I agree but Z and Super are completely different shows in terms of pacing and tone. Comparing them is pretty much pointless as they are good at different things. Obviously as the series goes on the audience doesn't need to have their hand held showing every second of training Goku does (since its literally all he does ever)

one of the best parts of og dragonball is they actually show you the training in the lead up to fights. Master roshis training is iconic and is easily the best training arc in dragonball as a whole. Later training arcs in dbz and super are crap because they just skip to the end where goku gets a new form or something. In Roshis training goku actually fights for his life every day delivering milk which is simple but so fun to watch

Love me a good training episode, makes me want to hit the gym lol! Jokes aside we can see now that the Goku and Krillin we know today are who they are for a reason, and it all started at this moment right here when they went through the most rigorous training of their lives (at this moment). And kudos to Toriyama and the animators for showing us exactly how their training went rather than some cheap montage and then see them stronger the next episode or something like that, definitely would have killed the vibes of their training if that happened to be the case
