Goku showing his balls again, typically Goku. Also one of OG Dragon Balls most viral video moments on youtube 😂That ending ocean and sky scene was also so beautiful. I totally forgot & yes i never understood what happened to the bomb either. I assume Goku bite the turn off switch by accident ? i guess ? but it's still kinda random lol and most of the comedy, especially in OG Dragon Ball is 90% Akira Toriyama's sense humor. You'll know if you ever see or read Akira's Dr Slump.

Japans anime culture started out in the underground and the bizarre ideas were there way to get the fan bases attention unlike in the west where hollywood has a certain reputation thats rarely challenged

I don't know if I'd attribute it to girls' fashion trends so much as it was a design trend that artists liked to use to show that characters have "seen some shit". Kinda like how Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star only has one shoulder pad sometimes. Hasky's supposed to a big time RR Army thief, so it's not unreasonable to think she's seen a fair share of danger. Idk, could be reading into it too much. Also, Hasky's only an anime exclusive character, so there's nothing to suggest Toriyama designed her lol.

Could be owed to me growing up with surreal media that comes from YT animations and the many wacky CN shows from the 2010s, but I really don't like the idea that writers need to have been on some sorta substance to come up with wild ass ideas. Sometimes a group of mildly insane people just manage to get a pen and production budget lol. Something I appreciate about a lot of Japanese pop culture is that they’re not afraid to get truly bizarre with their ideas. Western media can be surreal sometimes too, but I feel Japan just embraces it way more often.

Girls clothes getting ripped when fighting is a common trope in anime i feel like hasky's outfit was akiras way of poking fun at the trope (i dont think ripped clothes was a fashion statement yet back when this was made but im not a fashion nerd either Lol)
