This is a recap episode in a sense, but yes, it does give some insight into Hohenheim. I would recommend keeping this episode in mind, and later (maybe after finishing the series and on your own), go back and watch it again. See if you can piece together any other details that you may have missed the first time around. Also, if you do watch it again, pay attention as to how and why they grouped the flashbacks and what context they are trying to imply with each grouping. Some are fairly obvious, others are a little more obscure until you get further into the show.

Definitely enjoyed this recap episode, especially seeing some of the action in there that we previously saw. And yep, the person you guys saw in the opening credits with the Michael Jackson getup is the guy I DEFINITELY remembered way back on Adult Swim and many of us in the comments section have been waiting for his appearance, so you guys are definitely in for a treat when he shows up in the coming episodes

The blonde woman with the full lips in the tank in the opening is my favorite character in this series by far. SHES SO BADASS. But I’ll leave it at that so as to not spoil. Just know she’s a 10/10 character.
