How about a messy bun & messy ponytail combo? Have the bun held together by chopsticks with the ponytail feeding out from under it. Styled to be volumous. Style the front in whatever way best compliments the rest. I wonder if those hair spirals would look good with it... Can't find a good reference image for this...
