Its pretty common parlance, and I'm quite certain universally accepted as a factoid of sorts. When graphite was initially becoming ubiquitous as a writing utensil, society as a whole didn't have that large a grasp on chemistry. Graphite was quite literally referred to as plumbago for centuries(comes from the same latin root for lead), and thought of as a Lead ore. Personally, I'm down with using plumbago again.

It sort of seemed like Marche was telling folks if they weren’t clearing the gate. That’s one way to do it, but the better way is just to record the audio as separate tracks, without the gate, and apply the gate after as a track FX. That way you can adjust it easily in places that the default settings lead to cropped out dialogue

This was incredibly good shit -- part 1 got me to finally pay for admission here. I thought the part about whether Twitch is capable of being real art was especially interesting. I'd say all four of these folks playing RP has reached the level of art at one point or another. I mean, Donnie became fully separate from Hasan to me, just like a TV character would -- and it sounds like kinda to Hasan as well. It took a long time for me to stop checking for the next installment of Donnie's story! I think Twitch has a problem with the "ending" part of storytelling, though -- like somebody said in this ep, the format can disincentivize depth. Not sure anyone's actually nailed an RP "ending" arc, or even really tried. Maybe it takes somebody like Hasan, who doesn't rely on RP for his livelihood, showing back up with a plan to wrap his character's story, to light the way. Anyway, if Donnie came back I'd think of it similarly to like a favorite old TV show returning. Maybe Hasan will find a way to engage in a healthier way. Or maybe it was a unique moment that has passed. Glad to have been there, though.
