I'm ashamed to hear Austin, a certified aeronautical expert mind you, is spreading misinformation about helicopters. They don't "fall out of the sky". They also glide similarly to helicopters. In emergencies, they disconnect the clutch and allow the rotors to spin freely. The air rushing over the freely spinning rotors generate enough lift for any competent pilot to land without issue.
