Damn, Capcom are really trying to make the main character be a just an ordinary person going about their daily life - which is ruined. It does enhance the 'Fear Factor' which i guess what they're going for 😱. I have to admit playing the orignal games and remakes as the main characters was amazing, but only RE2 'felt' kinda scary - mostly due to Mr X. RE0 and RE1 remaster came close though. Although i prefer the gameplay style of RE4 and RE4 remake, i have to admit to being terrified of playing through RE7 when it came out lol. RE8 was more like 4 which i enjoyed. Hopefully RE9 is a mixture of styles! Can't Wait.
