A little while back I told you guys (in the FMAB comments section) about one of my friends who passed away from cancer years ago and how I do an annual tribute for him. That same friend was someone who wanted to be a hero to others, and he idealized heroes for as long as I knew him (Ben 10 and Naruto specifically), and this episode and the commentary you both said at the end reminded me of him a whole lot. In the littlest ways, he showed up as a hero for his friends and family, and many times for me as well. After he passed, I remembered talking about him to my therapist (as I was going through trauma recovery), and she said something to me I'll never forget: Even after his death, he's still showing up for me as a hero, because he's reminding me that I am not alone and that our friendship is another reason for me to continue to stay on this planet. That really hit home for me and was a reminder that spectacular actions don't always make heroes, but it's the little things that they do, even after their time has passed. Such a beautiful episode, possibly one of the best in this season

It's recurring gag in Frieren that, while Fern and Frieren are taking care of the main plot, Stark is running around off camera doing sidequests.
