i started watching the podcast recently (from clips of qt & austin on yt shorts) and qt taking about her trauma and her feelings regarding them have helped me validate myself through my own processing, it also brings a sort of parasocial comfort to see hasan and will (and austin) be so sweet and supportive of qt and heals a part of me seeing masculine figures responding with such empathy and care :) ADORE this group 🤓

Synthwave and its ilk is 80s-inspired, Will...as is their colour palette. Bright neons are way more 90s (or at least, that's my impression as someone who was aware of what was going on around me for all of the 1990s, unlike the podcast members…¹) If you dig The Midnight, there's a lot available to you to go beyond them. I tend to favour the darker sides like Perturbator and Carpenter Brut tho The Midnight's been on my "to listen" list for ages alongside Tycho. Both of which were from a random person I talked to at a bar and are to go with all my collection from the aforementioned artists, College, Dan Terminus, Dynatron, Wojciech Golczewski, Kavinsky [of course], etc ¹I occasionally suspect it's weird how old I am as a listener here, but oh well.

There is definitely one consistent theme to this podcast and its how off the rails it gets, either QT or Austin become overcome with some ailment or Hasan loses track of the conversation and zones out for 5 minutes to come back with something completely tangential. Marche getting berated off screen for his under pressure typing ability and inordinance when off handedly asked to look something up. Ultimately, Will is the glue(happy b-day) and I'm here for it all. Definitely looking forward to another year of your guy's antics.
