Patreon really does have the worst video player in existence. Even with hardware acceleration on, it's very laggy and is pretty much only preventing crashes.

just regarding the video player, Patreon is ass. It takes way more resources than any other video player I have ever ran into, and the WEBSITE itself feels like it runs in mud, its like the Norton anti virus of hosting sites

the patreon video player has not been a great experience for me; it always locks up and crashes the browser tab after some amount of time. instead, i use the browser’s dev tools to find the M3U8 file in the network tab. copy and paste that link into VLC (File -> Open Network) and it streams perfectly.
