Coconut Grove (or West Grove specifically) is a historically black and segregated neighborhood in Miami. There are still remnants of a physical "wall" that was essentially a barrier to separate it from the white part of town. White folk were allowed to purchase land there, but black people were not allowed to the inverse. As the years passed and the other side of Coconut Grove flourished, the black side was in shambles and honestly, became a very rough part of Miami.
