Tbh from the way they were talking I thought Marsche lost way more than 12k. I also work for a casino though and have had players casually be like "Oh I'm down 7-8k, I just gotta win it back". Or watch people go on losing streaks with 5k per hand and keep going. So I guess I'm a little more desensitized to it, because I know if I gambled and lost 12k it would be devastating to me personally, but I also don't make crazy money. I have no idea what some of these players do for a living where they can drop my yearly income on a game of baccarat.

As someone who works in hospitality, the lack of resolution is just mind boggling. It does not take that long to look at the security footage to see y’all (Will & Marche and the others in the elevator) are not at fault. Therefore they could have EASILY given some kind of resolution on a local level. They can continue the investigation after the fact. But at least resolving the issue while you all are still in house. The fact that you were supposed to email regarding a major life threatening incident is just ridiculous. I couldn’t hear too much from the phone call but I don’t think I even heard a sorry throughout the phone call. It’s insane me. I’m glad that y’all are safe and didn’t get hurt from this.

So QT, being human, got herself into too much shit and is venting about it. It's relatable. With all due respect for your perspective, I have a completely different one. One of the reasons why I love this podcast so much is because it’s just real life. The chaos and honesty is endearing. I also never interpret them asking how long they’re gone for as them not liking being there but instead as a look into what they are trying to juggle in their minds and as people trying to make a podcast. I appreciate those parts and the fact that they don’t cut, dice, or reorder their convos or comments (like what has seemingly become commonplace) because it always feels authentic and human. I also wouldn’t describe the collective patreon eps over the last few months as low effort or disappointing at all. I have genuinely really enjoyed and been entertained by the content ☺️

I subscribe for entertainment and distraction and it's quite jarring when in the middle of the youtube episode time is spent on how QT wanted to get out of attending the podcast because she had comitted to so much over the weekend, and time was spent on explaining that she wouldn't be attending the patreon episode. Then in the same episode we have people asking for how long is left until the hour is up and they can finish. It's very often that the flow is interupted with someone asking for how long is left in the middle of an episode. That combined with a lot of low or no-effort patreon episodes over the last few months (this episode was a banger though and I do appreciate how busy you guys were this weekend) makes me a little bitter, it is the opposite of entertaining and distracting

This entire episode has been one of the most scathing reviews I've ever seen of any hotel. At minimum they've lost thousands of potential customers, at worst untold once this gets disseminated. I think its worthy of a full YT video of a retelling, no doubt Will already has one in the pipeline. That's absolutely insane, I didn't even understand the scale of the fall until they dove into it more in the bonus episode. Goes without saying I'm happy no one was harmed, its so crazy they handled it like this. Hilton has untold amounts of insurance especially on core mechanical systems like the elevator, so any thing would automatically be covered to them. Just defies reason.

Nevada is a mixed consent state when it comes to recording phone calls. At least one party in the conversation must know they are being recorded but it is recommended for all parties to be explicitly told they are being recorded. I know it's just a Patreon video but for any future white hat Karen segment I would make sure consent laws are looked into. BTW its illegal to record phone calls in Vegas without two party consent. this patreon extra is the commissioning of a crime. but i aint a lawyer just an internet idiot so who knows Nevada law states that recording a phone call is illegal without consent. Nevada Supreme Court has ruled that both parties involved in the phone call must consent in order for it to be legal. Nevada is an all-party consent state. All parties to a phone conversation must consent for the call to be recorded. Therefore, Nevada's wiretapping laws (NRS 200.620) are stricter than its eavesdropping laws.

The reason why the hotel won’t comp anything is because the incident is so severe they’ve elevated it above customer service into legal to avoid liability. My guess is that they offered a full comp the next day in exchange for a release of all claims against the hotel. Also Austin should 100% inform the customer service reps that he’s recording when he does these bits. Just my little lawyer 2 cents

It's crazy that they didn't immediately comp the room at least. I'm sure they as the hotel are going to go after the elevator installer, but you shouldn't have to wait on that. If you wanted there is probably a pretty strong lawsuit. Elevators have so many checks, inspections, and certifications from not only the elevator installer, but also state and county inspectors who all failed at their job in ensuring it is safely operational
