Watching Hasan try to deafen himself is so irritating XD A regular routine of those ear drops will keep it from happening. Also don’t tilt your head in the shower when trying to get soap out. That’s how shit like water in your ear happens. You can wash your ears out in the show without issue, when you get the right angle. Also q-tips are meant for the outer ear shell. So like the upper ear shell and just like a few cm into the ear.

I know that this episode was off the rails but I absolutely love that I've found a podcast that is just always a great time no matter how smoothly or hot mess it goes. The chemistry between everyone makes these episodes great. QT is my absolute fav and I can sympathize with a lot of the things she talks about (The mean inner self is too real for me as well) but the entire pod shines. Love Marche's synopsis on the YouTube descriptions for the episodes. Great episode! Peak moment for me: Austin speaking Spanish with Marche in the middle of Hasan trying to clean his ear and showing it to Will and QT just trying to eat without Austin stealing her tomatoes.

Hasan should 100% get one of those earwax removal tools with a camera cause you can easily buy them online and it’s actually a scoop so you can see what you’re doing and you’re not pushing it in further!!! Actually I’ve seen that the podcast thing has worked in a live environment a few times . Back in the day used to be a huge Roosterteeth and Achievement Hunter fan and they’ve done several live podcasts, with great turnouts. Couple examples include Off topic podcast episodes #174, 63, and 32 and RT podcast episodes #336, 504, 440, and 226. Most of them are at RTX their own convention but I believe the first one I named off topic #174 is more of what Austin is referring too.

The podcast has felt so uncoordinated recently. I very much prefer a structured, edited podcast vs something that feels like a stream where everything including empty space is included. I feel like the whole sequence where everyone was moving around setting up for the Hasan ear procedure could've been taken out. I get there's gonna be luls in the convos, but I don't personally want that to be part of the content. The cast showing up with an actual plan and topics and not being distracted would make the content so much better imo

I’m only a few mins in but I’m doing the same thing in therapy as you are, QT. It is called inner critic work, I have found that a lot of us with religious trauma have really harsh critics. Mine is an 1800’s pioneer nun lady named blythe, who makes me feel guilty and unproductive and generally bad. The point of the activity is to be able to eventually decipher between your inner voice (yourself) and your inner critic (trauma and life-rules you developed to cope), that is why I named my inner critic and gave her a bit of a weird background. It’s def cringe imaginary things but it does real things to the subconscious mind. Therapy is sooo hard, so glad you’re so outspoken cause it made me feel so much less cringe to hear you talk about doing similar therapy sessions 😭💕
