It’s huge and you can sometimes get tickets to walk inside but they go fast. Also we have a monument from Mussolini near the lake! It’s called the Balbo Monument and most people don’t even know it’s there. I hope you enjoy Chicago even if it’s just for the DNC!

I have some amazing Chicago/suburbs recs if you want them Hasan! There’s a Palestinian cafe that I can drop or a bunch of good food places. The architecture itself is beautiful, nowhere specific. Sox games are a good time! Lake Michigan/the lakefront is nice to run or chill at its hot as hell right now so it’s perfect. Rent a boat and suntan out in the lake. Lots of stuff to do if you don’t like hyper specific places like museums or zoos. Chicago dogs and THIN Chicago pizza are the only way to go. Chinatown is fun to walk around and visit the stores but you are very large so don’t be a bull in a china shop. Botanical gardens and Lincoln park zoo 👏🏼 Chicago summers are the best. And the song is End of Beginning by the kid from stranger things (Djo - Joe Keery)

The aquarium is expensive just fyi but if you go you can touch stingrays. The zoo is free. I really like the bird section. Chinatown is always worth visiting. There are also TONS of museums if you’re a museum person. Have fun in Chicago!

its way too hot and humid in chicago right now but the lake is actually slightly warm so you could technically swim in it. food and museums/planetarium/aquarium are all solid choices. there are a ton of comic/anime shops in the city and the outskirts, so if you really wanted to find anime/manga shit you could. you could go to a cubs game like Will said but they kinda suck right now but still fun. you could also go to a chicago sky game, which are also fun to watch.

i know what you guys mean about rote jobs. i loved in college just doing soldering on circuit boards. so relaxing to just do a thing and know its being done well. i also liked working at the coffee shop a lot (student run, student + homeless clientele). i know real retail isnt like that but with good customers it is amazing.
