Being medically obese is NOT unhealthy. I have a super petite doctor and I'm obese and she says I'm healthy and my blood work is great and she isn't concerned at all, so idk why people think BMI is a good indicator of health. Any decent doctor will tell you BMI is bullshit. It's a fantasy that you've been sold that being obese means you're unhealthy. It makes you more at risk for certain health problems, like heart disease and diabetes, but as long as you keep a good diet and exercise, you're fine. And no, eating well and exercising is not a guarantee you will "stop" being obese.

So as a nutrition major you should know the very real health implications of being morbidly obese are far more concrete and far more statistically significant then the possible negative effects of ozempic. For morbidly obese people usually surgery is the option, ozempic with diet intervention would theoretically be less harmful than surgeries or being obese. You can’t pretend to be on the side of science and the ignore the practical application of science. Again the negative effects if the drugs aren’t as explored as they should be right now, that much we probably agree on.
