They cost so much because the unions have enforced a mininum training standard so everyone has to go through a full apprenticeship to add a powerpoint, but it does mean we have the one of the safest electrical systems globally. There are also govt employed inspectors in ACT that verify electrical work, especially solar, is compliant to industry standards. Same with plumbers. Union lefties in big companies (often pretty anti-Green party but commited Labour). Petit bourgeouis sole traders/ a couple of mates with apprentices. Teddy’s lookout in Mornington peninsula has a gondola ride with a great outlook. Regional Victoria has a lot of weirder, stream- worthy experiences if you’re up for a drive outside of Melbourne. Sovereign hill which is this weird tourist attraction which is a recreation of gold rush towns from 1800’s Australia in Ballarat being one of them.
