This really shows different people have different perspectives on what cheating is. Generally cheating is crossing boundaries within a relationship with another person. Men tend to care more about physical cheating where women tend to care more about emotional cheating. I’d say what Jojo did was emotional cheating and I also think you can emotionally cheat without realising because your brain will rationalise your behaviour since our brains find it distressing to see ourselves as bad people. I think she made a mistake because she is young and immature and in that regard she needs more grace but that doesn’t mean she didn’t do harm to her partner especially in such a public situation. You also don’t have to forgive a partner who leaves you because they’ve discovered themselves.

I was in a unhappy relationship and had a tiny crush on this cute guy from math. I was even younger than Jojo, but if I would have done anything like Jojo did, I would've considered it cheating. What makes me empathise more with Jojo is that there’s also a significant age gap between her and the ex, and they were planning to marry despite having barely been together long. I think one of the big things Will is skipping over with JoJo cheating on her partner is the fact that she didn't come out as straight, she came out as queer, she's not broken up with Kath because their gender doesn't align with her sexuality, but because she was emotionally cheating on them. Another thing is that, as an ace person, I feel especially strongly about the conflation of sex and romance, you don't need sex to have romantic feelings, and you don't need romantic feelings to have sex, but in EITHER of those circumstances it is still cheating. Sure JoJo broke up with Kath at the first opportunity that presented itself but JoJo knows she's on camera, she knows her ex would've been seeing all this, and like with any other relationship, she should've considered Kath's feelings of having to watch JoJo pretty much fall for someone else along with the rest of the world. To Will’s point about Jojo saying she’s queer, I think for me the biggest issue with Jojo’s and Chris’ relationship, whatever the fuck it is, is the age difference between them. Jojo is 21, Chris is like 32/33. Even if it is platonic I think the problem is how much room there is between them for Chris to take advantage of her given the age difference. From what was shown in CBB, I think Chris appears to be extremely immature, and potentially I think he could be using Jojo to make it bigger in the limelight and break out of reality shows. I think the live tv element of this is what really makes me say Jojo gets a pass for this. Big Brother is live tv you can stream it all the time and then daily episodes. There's no outside communication and again this isn't two straight people found each other to be hot but she really discovered something about herself from this connection.
