2 months ago my dog (55lbs) drank from broth that had onions and garlic—maybe 3 licks before I snatched her away. She didn’t actually eat any onions or garlic, but the broth still made her very very sick. Because there was so much inconsistent and incorrect information on Google, I went to the vet right away, and they told me to call animal poison control as well. The following two days she seemed totally normal, then she had the worst diarrhea and was very lethargic for 5 days. The vet warned me that it’s common for dogs to be fine for the following days, then it becomes a major life threatening situation later. Luckily she was still eating and drinking water, they prescribed her meds and pro&prebiotics. 55lbs drinking broth messed her up for a week. PSA for those who don’t know the severity of dogs consuming onions QT, I’m happy Swift is okay 🩵

let the record reflect that hydrogen peroxide is exactly what all professionals would suggest for a dog (assuming it wasn’t too late) and QT administered it perfectly. I also doubt she would ever violently shake Swift (who clearly has more head control/brain stability than an infant mind you)… he was bounced/rocked.
