This is a logical fallacy. A big reason that cats are so adept at grooming themselves is because they need to erase their scent to survive in the wild. If they were slathering bacteria on themselves that emanated a clear scent, that would defeat the purpose of grooming themselves after eating prey. I beg you, smell a healthy inside cat once in your life. Like Austin said, they tend to smell like detergent/baby powder from up close, and shouldn't smell like anything from afar. If the cat smells bad, there's something wrong and you should take them to the vet.

I'm 100% a cat person and I want to weigh in on dog owners being crazy. The reason they're crazy is because they by and large automatically expect everyone else to love dogs just as much as them and overlook everything negative about dogs just like they do. I work in a "dog-friendly" office right now and I hate it. I don't want to be around dogs, and you can't even object to it because lots of dog people have that crazy "I don't trust anyone that doesn't like dogs" mindset. They don't care if you're allergic, if you have past trauma from dogs, or even if you just don't want to be around other people's dogs all day long because you shouldn't even have to have a reason..

Hasan comes off a bit overly passionate given it’s Austin say lmao I actually think you can get rabies from cats too which is why most US states require you to vaccinate both (and likely get those shots when bit by any possibly unvaccinated animal). dogs can probably do more physical damage just due to their teeth/size if they want which is why it really sucks when people poorly train them. I have a well trained dog you could provoke and she’d still never use her teeth unless maybe there was a real danger to me or her but that’s not every dog and I especially don’t blame people with past bad experiences having trauma or being hesitant! that’s so understandable.

You‘re right on the demanding part, Austin didn’t mention having an argument with his guests. I did find Hasans entitlement when arguing with Austin a bit much. Like if you wouldn’t say that to your host directly, why argue with Austin? IDK, maybe that was me being too uncharitable I‘ll admit. I was bit by 3 dogs as a 4 y/o and had to take 6 shots against rabies, which is after my dad wrestled them off of me and saved my life then and there, so I think my point on dogs being WAY more dangerous than cats stands. Like you could get an infection from many things, rabies not so much. Of course both are great pets, however Hasan seems to be blinded to the fact that people have legit reasons as to not allow dogs in their home, since dogs are more difficult to accommodate than cats. Also sorry to hear about your mom. Glad she‘s ok. Cats can bite when they’re happy, like dogs. Maybe that’s why she bit despite looking friendly, idk tho

I don’t think they’re suggesting (or at least QT isn’t) that they would demand an animal be allowed inside someone’s home. that would of course be crossing the line. I somewhat agree with your dog and cat take but my mom had to be hospitalized for days over a cat bite that got infected due to bacteria in the cats mouth so you have to be careful with any animal you interact with. all she did was pet a usually friendly cat and it was totally unexpected. it could have been life threatening if not treated. I think dogs stink more than cats but some can be more predictable depending and I don’t mean that as a dig on either. both are great pets.

I have never seen someone in real life feel entitled enough to demand to bring their dog to MY home, after I’ve asked them not to. Very antisocial behaviour by Hasan and QT. Also dogs stink. Hasan saying they don’t and that cat people are smell blind to cats is hypocritical and wrong. Spend some time with cats Hasan, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Unlike dogs they don’t bite unless provoked. And if they do, they don’t have the capacity to significantly harm you or to kill children.

Yo you definitely should be clipping your cats nails. They’ll keep them worn but still are gonna need clipping occasionally and they should be comfortable with it, otherwise stuff like that can happen. So many zoomers are big King of The Hill fans because it was the last thing on adult swim before cartoon Network would come on. We didn't have the experience of Saturday morning cartoons but there's definitely a big enough collection of us that would wake up as early as possible to watch as many cartoons before school. King of The Hill is just simple and regularly entertaining enough to at least keep the attention of kids waiting for their regular cartoons. It's a brilliant show and unironically has so many positive messages that are great for children to subconsciously absorb and then eventually be able to really dive into when they're older. I love King of The Hill and I will be having my kids watch it whenever they're old enough to start understanding messaging in media.

QT's opinion on the dog thing is just her being overaccommodating and not knowing how to set boundaries, it's frustrating that she doesn't really see that bias and why a normal person wouldn't want to bend over backwards and make the night harder for themselves- and potentially their pets- just to not say no to someone (Nothing wrong with agreeing to accommodate, the issue is her believing that it is weird to say no). Hasan on the other hand is just the dog version of the weird cat person he describes, which is just as cringe as the people that would "never let a dog where their cats live". Is it possible to have the puppy and the cats there? Sure, but at a function with 15 people, it is selfish to feel entitled to pile on more responsibilities for the host to shoulder because "it's just a puppy!". This could be cat hate, or even perhaps old fashioned austin hate, hard to tell. Will was the only level headed, non-mormon, non-cat-hater take here. If the gathering is small, bring the puppy, if the gathering is big, it's on the host whether they want to take on that extra responsibility or refuse. Love yall though.

I think that with the ExtraEmily thing… it’s a bit of a different dynamic when your parents heavily pressure you to not only go to college but also to go to a very good (and expensive) college and make you feel like there’s not really a choice not to and then say that you don’t have to pay it back as long as you pursue a profession they approve of. I could see being pretty resentful of feeling forced into that position.
