Regarding QT's opinions on Sydney Sweeny's AE Ad. Regardless of the discussion after, I think her initial impression is still real, and matters. We all have areas where we aren't as well-informed. I'm not cancelling anyone, just sharing my personal experience with this. One of the main differences between me and QT would be our appearances. I have brown hair and brown eyes. I have Eastern European heritage. Yes I am White too. But I spent my whole childhood wishing I had been born with blue eyes and blonde hair. I was called ugly, I was told I could not dress up like Hillary Duff when playing dress-up games by my friends because I had brown hair. When you have brown hair or darker hair, your body hair is also more visible and so hairy eyebrows, legs etc. are all automatically more obvious if not constantly and obsessively maintained. Nazi takes were in every ad, every magazine, almost every tv show, novel, picture book and more that I consumed when I was young. I don't think QT can know the experience of being considered to have inferior genetics (whether said outright or implied) because she hasn't lived it. Anyone who considers people with blonde hair, blue or green eyes and straight, silky hair to be the prettiest, (whether out of all White people or all people) then there is a problem. There are still a lot of people who believe that a person who looks this way is the ideal. It's Nazi thinking to believe that blonde hair and light-colored eyes are superior or better or the most attractive (why are they the most attractive to you?) and it took me years to come to understand that this was all racist, eugenicist B.S. , and to completely reject it.

I’m saying this to share my perspective, as I can see that a few people are disappointed with QT’s views on the Sidney Sweeney jeans ad, and this may be more about my lack of awareness and claim to be a leftist but I know I have much to learn still and am actively trying to educate myself. So, I think I might have had a similar view to QT about the ad in the sense that I might have chalked it up to bad marketing, mainly because I didn’t see how a company would have gotten away with anything else. However, in saying that I will say that I don’t think I would have been aware of the ad at all if Caroline didn’t cover it in her stream and so I never saw the ad before this and so maybe I would have seen it and recognised it as eugenics shit, I can’t be sure. I suppose another thing to note is that I don’t know Sidney Sweeney as I never saw anything with her in, I’m bad at recognising actors and don’t really care to, so that makes me wonder again if I ever would have seen the ad as I’m not on Twitter and I’m not American. All this to say, I’m not trying to excuse the ad or QT’s view on it, or mine. I can see its awful now thanks to Caroline and Hasan and others, and I am glad to have been educated on this and it sounds like QT was too, idk

Music taste is also subjective in general, I don't know anyone who listens based on charts. You can't really be "wrong" about what you yourself likes. (It doesn't matter that Hasan doesn't regularly listen to music, he still clearly has preferences.) You said, "relating to the other" so maybe I'm just not seeing which part you're applying "out of touch" and "wrong" with because that doesn't really apply with music.
