Gibbets, Banners and Texture Rollers - Downloads of the September 'Thank-you' Rewards!

So we got there! This 'thank you' reward pack is stupidly large, even with the ones I had to bump up to next month (the cages) but definitely worth it I think! There is SO MUCH variety here to add easy flavour to your encounters!
I'll mention as usual, I did not sculpt these, I paid for these to be made as a 'thank you' for you guys, Fabio of Making Tlon is the sculptor. The split between nobles and questgivers is to make sure future sets have enough funding, and so questgiver funds dont get spent on stuff they may not want 🙂
If your patreon email is the same as your Myminifactory email then you will get access on there at the start of next month. I grab lists of patrons a few times in the month, every 10 days or so with a few on the last days, so make sure you stay subscribed for long enough to hit the database! I need that data to give you access 🙂
This month's release includes a lot of files, the features of which are almost certainly not immediately obvious, so I'll go over the methods to the madness here - without paint schemes this time, but I will still note little things that worked well for me!
Questgivers will get the medieval banners, gibbet and poles - basically the stuff I showed how to craft in the original video :)
Stone Texturers
- 1" texture roller - gentle. designed for foam like mine, easy to texture
- 1" texture roller - intense. designed for soft foam like US pink foam. sharper, deeper
- 1" texture roller - realistic stone. works similar to the textures from the caveman technique, but in a roller for walls. not quite as nice as caveman with a really nice block of slate, but better than some less textured rocks. Expect more in future!
- 4 prong brick indenter - 1/2"x1/4". Designed to add variety of depth while retaining texture!

Right! Lets start at the top.
Texture rollers
The texture rollers are all roughly 1" wide, which makes texturing a lot easier, but more importantly, they're bigger, meaning we can apply more force when using them.
I recommend rolling texture onto a piece flat against the desk, so you can press down with as much force as you feel you need to get better texture - try it out with test pieces!
Also, different foam is harder/softer than others, and I find generally that the foam on the thin edges of a piece is softer than that on the flat sides - which makes sense, that's where the compression strength is measured. They don't care if it squashes sideways!
I used the more rounded roller on my grey foam on the hard edge, and the sharper piece on the soft sides. with US pink foam (famously soft all over) you might want to use the sharp one on both, and press down hard!
Texture brick indenters
These are fairly self explanatory, print, glue into the wheel! some force/trimming may be required depending on your print settings...
in use, I found the sharper variants most useful, and pushed random bricks in, aiming to keep the pattern from having two indented bricks touching or being directly above/below one another.
Accessories - all!
In general, make sure the magnet holes or pinning holes are as clear of resin as can be before curing. poke some scrunched tissue paper in if you have to, though with the bucket dunking method, you shouldn't need to.
Take extra care with the pinning pieces, I found a good idea while cleaning was to have a paper clip unfolded on hand which I could poke in and get the resin out while it was in a safe environment to do so.
All magnets are n52 neodymium disks.
Medieval set - classic squared wood with metal bracing
- Banner/gibbet pole - 3x2mm magnet in the base, the hole is designed to be slightly deeper than needed so the magnet doesn't poke out and make it lean or wobble. the gibbet has a hole for 3x2mm magnets, double depth. this means a magnet on top of the gibbet (see below) will go up inside the piece and be hidden!
- Wall mounted banner/gibbet - 4mm holes in the rear. 4x2 will work, just dont push them too deep. 4x4 are stronger and are what I used.
- Extension pole for 6" height - This piece has a 3x2 hole at the bottom, and one at the top. You can extend any banner or gibbet whenever you feel like it!
- Classic 'bird cage' gibbet - with separate floor to allow gluing in any mini that will fit (prisoners work perfectly…). Variants with and without chain, so you can make it dangle as far as you like. mostly self explanatory, the chainless version is best used by putting a blob of superglue in the gap, spraying the chain with superglue sealant (optional) and lowering it in carefully, holding near to the bottom loop of the chain. This chain should ideally be magnetic, as then you don't need anything else to connect it to any gibbet pole!
The gibbet with resin chain needs a magnet or thin piece of nickel strip gluing to the top.
I've included a super thin support version of this as mentioned below for the brutal gibbet - this one needs it less but it is still delicate until glued, so it could use the help for sheer ease of support removal :)
3/6/9" magnetic Wooden roof beam
These are a little special. the 9" comes in two parts that superglue together, lets get that out of the way, but all of them have deep 4mm magnet holes. why deep? This allows you to have minis with magnets in their bases fighting on top of the rafters! Your rogues and rangers will love you. 4x2 works fine.
then you can seal up the bottom of the hole with milliput or other putty (or even superglue) with another magnet in place. Ideally indented far enough to fit a second magnet, like the gibbet above, but this isnt essential.
With that in place, you can have gibbets, meathooks and even chandeliers hanging from the ceilings of your encounters! obviously you want to space these out a little, but they're easy to pick up and put back down if needs be 🙂
finally, there are two slits in either end. these are for nickel strips, tin, or even card if it;ll fit! a little poking out on each side lets the pieces sit on a wall, hooking over each side, and if magnetic will even attach to the top magnets! You can even have them set up within buildings before taking the roof off 😃
Let me know how these play, they're a bit of an experiment! you can of course make these from balsa, you just need to drill holes in similar places 😁
Brutal set - spiked beaten iron. Mordor, chaos, devils etc…
The following is pretty much identical for the iron set :)
- Banner/gibbet pole/wall mounted versions - same as medieval, except the gibbet has a 2x2mm hole for fitting a doubled up 2x1mm magnet (or a 2x2mm magnet if you had one, I already had 2x1 for other things and they work close enough for this!). In this case, you don't need to leave a gap to fit another magnet, the 2x2mm magnet should be flush :)
the smaller magnet works fine for holding things for the most part, but I wanted to make 3x2 holes for the medieval versions as that's what most people will have on hand, plus it lets gibbet magnets (if needed) disappear inside where possible.
The smaller magnet was MAINLY used because these pieces were too thin for 3x2! - Extension pole for 6" height - this version comes with its own 'upper' sections, and isn't modular due to necessities of design. you'll want to pin this using 1mm steel wire or straightened paper clip, just check the straight wire will slide in, then superglue in place, check the other side is short enough to fit, and superglue that too 🙂
- Spiked gibbet - can also fit a mini in. Variants with and without chain. The supports on this are SUPER thin, deliberately. It's a delicate piece until glued together, and thicker supports are a pain to remove, though they do work. I've uploaded a thicker supports variant if you have problems printing, mine came out perfectly and were a dream to peel. I recommend hot water, and peeling the thick raft from the supports first, it gives a lot more leverage removing them from the actual mini!
The non-resin chain version works exactly like the bird-cage medieval version.
theres also a 'less spikes' version if the inner spikes get in the way of your intended victim...
Finally, these glue together much as the bird cage version, but are a little harder to line up and glue - I recommend gluing the bottom first, then the top one at a time :)
Tribal set - rough cut trees and branches, bound with rope…
The grim tribal set is identical but with skulls. the skull itself is also included as a bonus! Use it wherever 😁
- Banner/gibbet pole/wall mounted versions/extension - same as medieval
- Tribal gibbet - can also fit a mini in. Variants with and without rope. if adding rope, I'd use unthreaded twine or string and knot it around the 4 corners, then tie in the middle as the resin version does :) again, to magnetise the resin rope version add a 3mm magnet on top, it should hide inside the tribal gibbet! Obviously the actual rope version can just be...tied!
Accessories:
- Chandelier - 3x2mm magnet superglue to the top, should attach nicely to the wood beam. Or the gibbet posts if you feel so inclined. Not sure why!
- Noose/meathooks - now these are slightly different.
The versions with resin chain, and the rope both have little slots in them - these are for cutting a small piece of paper clip or steel wire, and supergluing it in lying flat. to do this, cut a piece of wire until it fits, then attach it to a 3mm magnet lying flat, with a small strip of parchment paper in between. then add superglue to your noose/chain, and slot it on top until dry. superglue accelerant on the wire helps with this :) to attach to medieval/tribal gibbets, this method needs a temporary 3x2 placed in the gibbet to make up the gap!
OR you can just glue a 3x2 magnet on top. This is stronger and faster, but more expensive and will have the magnet exposed when attaching to iron/brutal gibbets - up to you guys :)
Finally there's the no chain version of the hooks, which you can open a chain with needlenose pliers or wire cutters, and add to a length of chain as long as you'd like...
One last quick thing - the metalwork bits look amazing with a nuln oil wash, fabio did a spectacular job with textures here that take it above and beyond the smooth metal usually seen on STLs, so give it a wash to see the true value of it! I used vallejo metal colour burnt iron for the brutal stuff, and VMC dark aluminium for the other sets metals - amazing paints :)
I hope you guys enjoy this set, and look forward to next month - we've got multiple cages in a similar style, as well as another small 'secret project' piece I'm experimenting with before announcing 😁

Hey Matt, I'm a noble patron and I'm trying to download this pack. specifically all of the texture tools. these were the reason I upgraded my status to Nobel. I can not find this download. There are several comments regarding these as throw backs. Am I to late for those also? Will be more in future? Thanks in advance.

Hmm, thanks for letting me know! I'll take a look :) that said, nobody else seems to have raised the issue so I feel like it might be some kind of mmf bug, but I'll see what I can do!
