Taking charge is likely to burn bridges we don't need to. Power bottom is the way to go. Cinder is wrapped in hundreds of layers of armor we need to be careful while peeling because of the landmines in between. Please don't blow our chances with her and Emerald by rushing it. We do not have a do over in this story.

Taking charge looks to be winning, but I think that it would be more amusing to power bottom by playing within Cinder's rules. "Which shows a woman's power more? Being strong enough to let go, without a care. Or feeling the need hide your emotions and reactions, even in the most private of moments, lest someone try to take advantage?"
