Pages stolen and uploaded, I'm sorry [quick info]

So it has come to my attention that there are apparently free comic sites that host The Cummoner that have uploaded pages that aren't even available here on Patreon.
For some time I've been working on pages to build up a buffer in case of an emergency, so the comic continues if I need to take time off- you probably all know by now that I have a small baby and life is unpredictable. I've been scheduling the pages to appear on Patreon and the website http://totempole666.com - and it seems obvious that someone simply accessed them (probably by guessing the file names) and uploaded them to other sites.
I'm sorry about this. It won't happen again. I don't think it's worth trying to get other websites to pull the pages, but I can ensure the files won't be accessible in future.

I dont think they had to guess. The entire folder structure seems to be publicly accessible http://totempole666.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03. Also i tend to agree with M.Roberts. Since most pages end up on your website anyways other sites just increase your visibility for free. Spending time and money trying to take them down is just not worth the effort.
The only reason I found your comic was finding it elsewhere and then finding the source. Which eventually led me to becoming a patron.

Don't even need to guess. I know the internet looks super fancy today, but a directory is just a directory. Using a fairly rudimentary script, you can scrape all sorts of data from a site, basically effort free.

Thanks! And I'm sure most people are just like you- but it feels bad that some pirate site has material that isn't ywt available to anyone, even paying supporters.

I'm sure they know, they didn't break into my site, just guessed the file names (i think). And they're people who regularly visit to download and upload to their site.

Sorry to hear that. Not sure why you're apologizing to us though? All I want out of my dollar is that you can keep doing your thing, never really cared about exclusivity or early access.

I usually don't mind them posting the comic on other sites, since pages do have my address at the bottom. Shitty to steal unpublished material tho
