A/N: Going to be trying something different for the next couple weeks and if it winds up working for me, it'll become the new normal going forward.
If you see any mistakes or ways for me to improve, feel free to let me know. On the subject of the EPUB file specifically, you will need to find a preferred EPUB reader on your end to utilize them. EPUB is more of a third option for those who prefer it and already use it regularly.

I wouldn't say Madelyne's inner monologue fell flat, Cambrian...just that it felt a little too juvenile for an adult woman, even an extremely introverted one, in my opinion. But if she's basically a child in a woman's body, with a lot of knowledge but zero wisdom and maturity other than what she can fake, she's going to feel like a character who's written "wrong". Then again, as a fellow introvert, Madelyne's behaviour might be triggering because it feels...familiar. I guess my biggest worry is how she'll take any rejection from Thad if she tries to flirt and he realizes she's not as mature as she appears...and he doesn't reciprocate her attention.

Well, once she gets involved with Thad at least we don’t have to worry about her clusterfuck of a relationship with Cyclops happening. That said Oromo is right about people not going to want to leave her alone. Scott is going to take this…poorly. Also banging her is obviously going to put Thad on Sinister’s radar. Mr. Superior Eugenics is going to be salivating.

So this is the early Maddy, before Jean's return screwed up her life. At least this time she won't have the whole soap opera involving Scott & Jean. And while I prefer having the chapter in the alert email, I have no problem with the Google Docs, they're just one extra step that works fine on my desktop (haven't tried it on my iPad yet).

It is fairly on brand for early Madelyne. She's a clone that has no personal memories, craves life experience, and has been rather heavily encouraged by Dr Essex / Mister Sinister to go out and get them. He's manipulated her into not questioning her origins at all ("don't focus on the past") and made up an entire backstory (I say made up but the Pryor family dying did happen) for her prior to her awakening. There's probably some other things going on as well, but Cambrian will probably reveal such things later.

She's definitely supposed to be socially stunted. It was my attempt at writing an introvert trying her hardest to be more extroverted lol. As an introvert myself who has no interest in being extroverted, it might have fallen a little flat

Since I've never read the X-Men comics covering the OG Phoenix Force and Madelyne Pryor's initial appearance...is Maddy's internal monologue on-brand for the character? I ask because she comes off as pretty mentally immature in places and am curious if it's related to being a clone with only operational knowledge and not having personal memories...Madelyne doesn't want to be infantilized, but a college professor sounding like she's barely pubescent at best (if only in her own head) comes off as a bit disconcerting. Especially when you'd think Sinister would have built a stronger identity for her...

She is 100% a clone made by Mr.Sinister, this isn't an OC, she's an Earth-616 clone that was originally made by Mr.Sinister to kill Apocalypse, and is the mother of Cable, not Jean Grey.

I rather like GDocs, works great on my phone, though I'm using the Patreon website - I can't stand downloading mediocre apps for every damn site I use, haha.

The new style just makes it a pain to read for the app, I now have to either download a 3rd party app or read it in a different format that's just annoying to work where as before I could just literally tap and read. Honestly just really annoying.

I agree the docs don't display well using the app. Would probably be fine if I was on my computer. But it was still usable even if it wasn't quite as convenient.

Okay confirmed that likely Madeline Pryor is a clone that Mr Sinister made. I do have to comment to my fellow readers that y'all are too horny you could have at least let her wait till class on Friday.

I think it was implied that Maddy had a portion of Jean's soul in comics canon. Basically, the writers had retconned that Jean was preserved in a frozen state under water while a part of her soul merged with the Phoenix Force and became the Jean Grey that rose from the waters as the Phoenix. So everything from then till Jean sacrificing herself in the Shi'ar judgment event was actually the Phoenix acting believing itself to be Jean Grey (and having a part of her soul). It is right after this event, that one of the clones that Essex makes "wakes up". That clone becomes Madeline Pryor. Much later, some time after Maddy does for the first time, Jean absorbs her memories/soul (which was a part of Jean's soul to begin with). This gives Jean all of Maddy's memories. It is also the reason that the Goblin Queen is soulless. Coz Jean has Maddy's soul. Unless of course they retconned that story again.

It is an interesting question if Phoenix would have been inclined to pass the connection to Maddy but couldn't for some reason, and if it would have been able to know that Maddy + Thad = Phoenix + Thad. Or suspect, at least. Assuming it isn't just Maddy falling for Thad organically. Or Goblin, that's a possibility too. Locked powers due to cloning being a fixable condition may also be enough to power a whole arc, though it could also delay the Black Queen's involvement until Thad "unlocks" his own "clone" and makes himself less uniquely valuable. Long enough that Selene wouldn't even be close to a threat anymore. Unless she stops trusting her "spies" and decides to get her hands dirty on her own.
