Weird that the gay dude, with no chance of furthering his line came up with the idea of killing off anyone else next in line for it, thus technically destroying the kingdom after he’s dead as no one else would be capable of assuming the throne. Really stupid guy, hope he dies in an equally stupid manner.

I'll be honest, bit surprised to see Renly trying his hand at an assassination attempt. I always saw him as more of an opportunist: not above trying a coup, but not someone who is 'dishonorable' enough to go about staging someone's murder except maybe by pretending to be ignorant while having someone else do it. Now him being dumb enough to use knights for it is definitely on brand though. Guess that goes hand-in-hand with him being 'new' at trying to have someone killed. On another note, I know there's a lot of people saying the story is too slow, which I get since there's a lot of different POVs of 'scheming', but I'm enjoying it so far. With every day updates I can't complain. It's much better to see the thoughts and planning behind all this then if it were consecutive updates of Axel running into seemingly random attempts at killing him to the point of seeming goofy. That said, definitely looking forward to it picking up a bit and getting into the meat of it.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Stannis is the only one who SHOULD want Axel dead but ISN'T plotting to merc him? That Stannis actually will like his nephew and be willing to stay Lord of Ships because Axel will actually respect him and his advice? Maybe give the Stormlands to Stannis once Renly gets his just desserts and is killed off as a traitor...
