So I can see how Your idol can be a rejection of the intensity of pop devotion and connection between boy bands/ kpop groups and fans. Similar to Bo Burnham's song Repeat Stuff. How it can exploit commercialization and fan hero-worship, ratchet up the one-sided parasocial of it all for fans who are seeking an escape and find it in the glossy "pure" facade. But how does it reject the kpop industry as a whole? Like the Kpop factory and the bad deals of the industry like you mentioned? That part I don't get but maybe I'm missing something.
