“But it might be dangerous!”
Giving the part veela an amused look as he takes the letter from the regal-looking owl, Harry chuckles.
“That’s precisely why I’m checking it out and not you, my dear.”
Fleur fumes, clearly feeling that her life and health are less valuable than his own. Harry, of course, strongly disagrees with that fact. He’ll just come back if anything actually manages to kill him. And anything that fails to kill him, he’s more than equipped to handle with his magic. Fleur is not so lucky and so he will never risk her life when he could risk his own instead.
In the end though, a slew of diagnostic spells cast in the blink of an eye show nothing noticeably dark or even magical about the letter. At the same time, Harry reads who it’s from… and arches a brow in both surprise and amusement. Someone was moving… quickly.
“Who is it?”
Glancing back to Fleur, Harry shrugs.
“It would seem that Lady Malfoy has already found reason to get in touch with me. Let’s see if she’s heard about the Wizengamot Meeting or if this is something else entirely…”
Without further ado, he cracks open the letter and unfolds it. His eyes dart back and forth across the parchment page in silence for a few moments as he consumes the contents… and the underlying intent behind Narcissa Malfoy’s words. In the end, he can’t help but smirk a little bit.
“What… what is it? What does she say… i-if you don’t mind me asking, my Lord.”
Harry huffs and rolls his eyes at Fleur’s sudden insecurity.
“I don’t mind you asking one bit, Fleur. I doubt I would like having you in my service if you never asked a single question and just stayed quiet and biddable at all times.”
Fleur blushes at that and quickly nods before gesturing to the letter as if to say ‘… So?!’. Chuckling, Harry waves the piece of parchment up and down a bit.
“It’s exactly as expected, really. She has indeed already heard about both my claiming of the Potter and Black Seats and my intention to consolidate them into a new seat for House Hallows. However, she clearly doesn’t know that I’ve already requested a meeting of the Wizengamot, because amidst all of her flowery language, there are some thinly veiled threats that she might do it herself if we cannot come to an arrangement.”
As if summoned by his very words, another owl, this one clearly just a standard barn owl from the Ministry, flies in low and lands on the fence outside of his manor. Chuckling some more, Harry steps over and takes the letter from it as well, not at all surprised to find that it is the confirmation and general summons that Padma Patil had promised he would receive ‘later today’. The date of the meeting, as it so happens, is in exactly one week.
“I wonder if Lady Malfoy received this exact same summons just now along with the other members of the Wizengamot. If she did… well, she might be feeling a mite foolish at the moment to have sent her own letter so… quickly.”
Indeed, were this a normal version of his world, one with a Lucius Malfoy shadow ruling through Cornelius Fudge, then Harry would have expected Lucius to already know everything beforehand, including that Harry himself had called for a meeting of the Wizengamot.
Unfortunately for Narcissa Malfoy, she had inadvertently shown her hand with this move. Her own intelligence network was nothing compared to what her late husband would have had access to back in the day. While she had been informed about Harry’s intent to consolidate beforehand, her sources hadn’t been able to give her everything. Egg on her face, yada-yada.
“… Do you think she’ll send another letter then, once she realizes the mistake she’s made?”
Harry considers Fleur’s question for a long moment before shaking his head.
“No, I doubt it. She’ll know that she’s already embarrassed herself. At this point, her best bet will be to cut her losses and start preparing for our confrontation at the Wizengamot at the end of the week. There, she’ll have to put every bit of firepower she has into preventing me from erasing her family and absorbing it into my new House. Otherwise… any plans she had for House Black will be done for.”
Fleur nods along with him, her head bobbing up and down in easy agreement with everything he’s saying. That is, until Harry pauses and looks down at Narcissa’s letter again.
“Although… I could very well send her a missive instead. Her first letter did all but demand that I attend her at my earliest convenience, lest she have to take ‘drastic measures’. I could still do precisely that and she would be hard pressed to deny me considering the noble politics and what not at play.”
Frowning now, Fleur furrows her brow.
“But… why would you do that? She can’t possibly have good intentions. She’ll almost certainly try something if you give her the chance! You should ignore her, my Lord… it’s not safe.”
Harry just hums in a non-committal fashion as he stares down at the two letters for a moment longer. In the end, he shrugs.
“We’ll see.”
Fleur doesn’t look happy to hear that, but only one of them is the boss here so ultimately she just pouts and falls quiet, following behind him as he finally leads them both inside.

Hours later, Harry strides into the family library wearing little more than an open robe, his dick out and swinging between his legs. “Oh? Is someone looking to brush up on his Blood Magic? Then again, you’ve done that already haven’t you? That seems like a bit of a… beginner’s text for you at this point, Master.”
Death comes sweeping out from around a corner, smiling with Morticia Addam’s face as her dark eyes twinkle with wicked amusement. Her gaze lingers on the tome in his hands for only a moment… before darting lower still, to where his cock is dangling freely out of his open robes.

She wasn’t a Death Eater he was pretty sure, which made sense because even if she was a Slytherin, she was still a half-blood.
Had she been a casualty of war in his original timeline? Harry hadn’t memorized the names of every wizard and witch killed by Voldemort’s forces or anything like that.
… Truthfully, it wasn’t worth worrying about. His original world and life were a dozen universes behind him. And even the last universe didn’t matter as much as the current. Allowing himself to be bogged down by questions about the past or regrets about things he hadn’t done in previous worlds was a Zero Sum Game… not worth playing.
Instead, he focuses on the present. He’d interacted with this Tracey Davis. He’d accepted her job. And now he was holding the very tome she’d hired him to find. All that was left was for him to get it to her… but Harry couldn’t help wondering what she wanted with it.

It had… made things extremely predictable and though Harry had saved a lot of lives and been the Big Damn Hero just like he was in his first world… it had ultimately cured him of what his Hermione had always called his ‘Saving People Thing’.
Not that Harry wouldn’t still protect those precious to him even to this day, but he no longer went out of his way to rescue complete strangers and ensure nobody died on his watch ever. He wasn’t a hero at this point… he was just a traveler passing by.
As these thoughts run through Harry’s mind, he comes to the end of Crimson Sanguine. The tome is exactly what he thought it to be in this world same as any other. A primer on Blood Magic with some questionable rituals and ‘dark’ magics, but nothing over the top or truly evil.
It was precisely the kind of book that the Ministry wouldn’t let be sold in shops but also wouldn’t try and confiscate from the private libraries of Magical Lords and Ladies. That might be why Tracey wanted it, in fact… after all, she was no noblewoman. So while it was as easy as a single ‘accio’ for him, getting her hands on Crimson Sanguine would be a lot harder for her.
Letting out a sigh, Harry closes the tome and sets it on the table next to him. Then, he looks down at Death with an amused smirk as she gazes up at him with Morticia’s eyes. Reaching down, he grabs hold of her hair and pulls her up by it, not bothering with gentle as he yanks her from her knees and up to her feet.
“Oh! My Master is sooo rough and f-forceful~”
“Minx. Like you weren’t hoping for it.”
Harry bends Death over the large wooden table right next to the copy of Crimson Sanguine. He grabs her dress with both hands and proceeds to rip it open, knowing full well that its not real anyways and can be reconstituted in an instant.

I'd say prioritize Narcissa first...even if Tracey were to learn he had a copy of Crimson Sanguine amongst his personal collection and could have given it to her the same day she hired him, he can fairly point out he stil got it to her in a short period of time AND he was waylaid by Noble House business that could have an effect on future clientele and his own affairs.

From the political angle, taking up Narcissa's "invite" after the owls about the meeting has gone out actually puts Harry in a stronger position. She's on the backfoot because her network didn't get her all the info in time and overplayed her hand. Ignoring her until the meeting makes Harry seem more antagonistic or dismissive, but meeting her before then extends a small olive branch, indicating he's willing to work with her without being deferential to her. Similarly with Tracey, turning over the book immediately makes him across as more... desperate or needy. Waiting a day or two will still be a quick turn around, but also shows he's got his own business and priorities and he's not going to drop everything for whoever happens to hire him. Could lower Tracey's opinion of his work a bit, but "immediate results" is not what was promised anyway.
