Been Delayed This Week
🕑 Added 2024-04-15 20:45:48 +0000 UTCI should've said something sooner but I kept thinking it would get better but it really hasn't. My mood has been very low this week and it's made working on the next chapter rough. It's almost done, though, so I'm hoping tonight or tomorrow.
I haven't explicitly said so but in the interest of transparency I've been tapering down from an antidepressant for like 4 months now and this entire last month has seen some pretty rough withdrawal side effects. Nothing serious- I don't want people to worry- just headaches, lethargy, and issues with concentration being the big one that's slowing me down. It's what I meant when I said brain fog before.
I'm only bringing it up because I have an explicit reason things are taking me longer and I'd rather be upfront about that since it will presumably get better within a few weeks. I'm just really upset about the timing since I didn't know I would put out a hugely successful book while going through this, so now that my readership (i.e. you patrons) has exploded in numbers I'm stressed that it's happening at a time I'm not able to deliver at my fullest.
If it doesn't improve within a few weeks I'll bite the bullet and taper at a slower pace but I would rather give it some more time so that I didn't just waste 4 months getting to this point. It's just a shitty situation and not the best time for it career-wise but it is what it is.
At least I'll have some new art to post for you guys soon and as I said the next chapter is mostly done and I hope to get it up within the next day.

I'm here to show support for a series I fell in love with. Keep up the good work! Take the time needed, better to keep the good stuff for later then to rush out crap. I came here because I HAD to know more after reading the first volume!

Thank you, it still means a lot to hear! I’ve had a decent day since posting this and have actually been making some progress so I’m hoping there was some guilt going on and that by clearing it out has relieved some of the pressure stopping me from concentrating.

Take as long as you need I can't claim to speak for everyone but I'm here to support your work and not here to enforce any sort of schedule work when you can and take care of yourself when you need to.

As one of the "new" readers, im here to support an author that does great work, if it takes you time to write, take your time and write, if you need to take time to get into the correct headspace then i think you should, mental health is serious and you need to make sure you take care of yourself. i mean...i would love to read another chapter...or 50 but thats beside the point :P

Thank you, that’s a nice reassurance. My concern is more toward the people who joined to read chapters as they come out. Before all this I’d usually get one done every two days so you can see why I’m taking it poorly on my end lol

No worries, dude. I get antidepressants. Good on you that you're able to make such a radical change. I'd have a difficult time too. Personally, I'm here to hang out with you and get to participate in your writing process. I'm waiting until the next book is ready, so I can read it all at once.
