Virt-a-Mate itself was built with an older SDK that doesn't, as far as I know, allow hand tracking using the Meta quest hand tracking. If whatever you are doing is opening up the vamX menu, that's the equivalent of a trigger button press, and you can disable that just by actually clicking on the "Hide" button to the bottom left of the vamX menu. Then you can use the Virt-a-Mate Show vamX button to show vamX later (near the Edit/Play checkboxes in the Virt-a-Mate menu system). So, that will solve the opening of the vamX menu, but I still think hand tracking may not work.

It would be even more immersive if we didn't have to hold on to our controllers. Is there a way to use Hand Motion Tracking? Whenever I try it, it keeps opening up the Vamx menu.

I keep checking and it still only works through Virtual Desktop. Perhaps people can pressure the Virtual Desktop creator to have his software work via the link cable? Or if Meta enables this sort of global passthrough by color feature.

Ddevil

Man I wish this worked through Link because virtual desktop has absolute trash quality even if you have a decent connection.

You can create custom personalities, but they need to be hosted online. We have a series of steps that let's you create your own custom personalities, but it takes a bit of work, and perhaps $5-10 once. Search "bunny.net" from https://sxvr.com/ai

Yes, you must have Virt-a-Mate to run vamX (this is mentioned when you subscribe to vamX). You can (even just once) pay $8 to get Virt-a-Mate from https://www.patreon.com/MeshedVR

Curious George

Is there a way to save custom personalities? Such as name changes and such, or do you have to edit these detail each time?

nigel

Do you need Virt-A-Mate to run Vamx?

We are working a little on this, by adding another set of scenes with a floor that is invisible, but has some shadow possibilities and does support the model. A mirror is a fun idea. In regards to creating additional occlusion objects, that would require you to use the normal Virt-a-Mate scene creator tools to size and place those objects. It's already possible, but I'll see if I can create an explanation of how to do that as part of the next update.

We make vamX not Virt-a-Mate / VaM_Updater, but basically, VaM_Updater isn't signed so you'll need to press More Info -> Run Anyway, or something similar to that. It's ok to run it, even though it's not signed (of course make sure you downloaded it from a reputable source).

VaM_Updater does not allow to run, I get the folowing screen : Windows protected your PC Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk. More info App: VaM_Updater.exe Publisher: Unknown publisher

Amazing update, passthrough is whole new world. It would be awesome if you could insert invisible objects / shapes into the scene to allow you to occlude the model, it could serve as a stand in for the base of a bed as an example. Also being able to insert a virtual mirror behind the model would add to the immersion.

Yes

Can I see my real body in the passthrough mode?
