I see this piece and I feel that it is sublime, so beautiful, so telling. I'm new here on your page and I'm really in love with your work! However, I love that you share your feeling, many times the same thing happens to me, I feel dissatisfied and it makes me want to abandon the work and move on to something else... the sense of improvement is a constant personal struggle. Getting carried away with details is something I think a lot of artists struggle with since we often don't realize how much time we're spending on some areas of the painting (that could also mean we're having too much fun π )

Ooo I love this and love your description and ideas behind it too! I also find myself doing so much detail work for backgrounds when I really would rather do those fun painterly shapes you talk about. I feel like I spend so much unnecessary time on things that should be playful and quick, this is a great reminder and inspiration to me to loosen up and try something new. Thank you!
