Morningstar Act III update
🕑 Added 2024-02-17 07:34:23 +0000 UTCI picked up a Steam Deck (for research, honest!) this week, and have spent some time playing Love of Magic / Morningstar (and Sinners Landing / Paradise Lust) on it.
By and large it plays okay; there's a couple of small things that need touching up, like the input systems, but those are solvable. It did, however, become clear that the game would play a lot nicer if it was tweaked to be entirely playable using the gamepad.
I'm about 80% through that task (except the handphone, which... will have to wait), now it's just a matter of playing whack-a-mole with the remaining UI bugs.
I'll do a rough pass through it, and then get back to writing new content. I've got 3 more small Act III side-content event to trigger before the Act is content complete, at which point all that's left is bug-fixing. I'm hoping to have it ready by next week.
Do you play games on a gamepad? Is that better or worse for these kinds of games? Let me know in the comments.!

I actually play on both desktop and laptop. I go with a larger screen so I can enjoy the renders and get better immersion. Thanks, and looking forward to enjoying the upcoming Act III content!

For normal VN games, I would expect native support for Dpad. However, for the game with caliber and scope of gameplay such as LoM, I would say TrackPad support is good enough.
