Ya just gotta throw the hands though

I feel like Ludyc got briefed by Eros. "Get the girl, check. And no matter how much they beg, do NOT let her bemoaning relatives get to her, or you'll get both your hearts broken at best, and a knife in the chest at worst." Seriously though, I love how you're taking a leaf out of these primal myths (Psyche, Persephone...) and giving it a fresh spin from the pov of said bemoaning relative.

Very much agreed alot of past trauma family and non family related myself and sometimes people just need the space to decompress away from things to choose. ludyc isn't forcing these women he's literally just helping these women deciding what they want with their lives and then going what they are saying.

Besides, Iโm tres interested in this precipice Gwen is on ๐ I hope when she falls, itโs right onto Alekseiโs knot โ๐ผ

Hot take - Ludyc is not being a dick. Aislimg came looking for space, heโs providing it. Heโs not her courier. Heโs protecting her space. As someone who left a truly toxic family, Iโd love a big ol god to protect my space for as long as I needed. I donโt want those folks to come looking for me, no matter how badly they feel about what they did. Aisling doesnโt need to talk to Gwen to decide her own fate or to heal. I love Gwen but sheโs doing this for herself now. She knows Aisling is safe. She needs to respect her choice and not press. Aisling will return of her own volition or she wonโt. Ludyc is right to let Aisling continue to have her space. Trauma is complex and itโs possible a god might have a cosmic insight which Gwen does not possessโฆ Basically, itโs not his responsibility to tell Aisling that Gwen is searching for her. Heโs doing what Aisling asked. I think itโs cool she has someone looking out for her finally, someone whoโs not motivated by power (heโs already got it) or who wants to use her.

I wonder if Aisling was trying to get away from Gwen, or if forgetting her was just an unpleasant side effect of getting away from the rest of their crazy family
โ
not the mitt to the face while sheโs already glaring at him

I mean... Seems like Aisling made the choice to forget. At least for the time being. To me it reads like she finally decided to go "no contact" with her family to save herself from a toxic situation and protect her peace of mind. Not everything is black and white, toxic people usually love the people they're hurting. Doesn't mean they should have access to them anymore. Gwen is the sibling that is still in the toxic situation, wondering why the other sibling left. And actively trying to bring them back. Blaming them leaving on a scapegoat (Ludyc) when really the reason is their family.

I'm not sure about him being all that 'bad' by not telling her. As he said, all he did was offer her somewhere to think. Family, or her happiness. In a space free from all and any information, or interference that may or may not influence her choice. If all she wanted was somewhere no one could talk to her, maybe hes following her wishes in not telling her anything. We dont know what she asked for. Maybe she asked to not be told people are looking for her cause she knows it would bother her. All we know are what Ludyc and Gwen are saying. I didnt hear anyone ask, "what did Aisling ask of you?" Or "does she even 'want' to talk to anyone other then Ludyc, whom seems to see only a lovely lady, not a tool.

That being said he is being a dick by not telling Aisling that Gwen is worried about her safety, at the very least
Alex M
He's not completely wrong: Gwen is looking for Aisling to make sure she's ok, but she's also heavily motivated by her guilt in interfering with Aisling and Kalan's marriage. Ludyc operates on blue/orange morality, so to his eyes, not telling Aisling that Gwen is breaking down his door to see her is, to his logic, keeping Aisling from feeling pressured into doing "the right thing". For Aisling's choice to no longer be in conflict, either a) Faustus has to actually die and someone reasonable take over Llaena so that Dyflynn is secure without marriage diplomacy or using Gwen, or b) Eamonn has to bite it since this whole mess was like 95% his fault anyway

That hand better stay just a hand buddy, if you touch a hair on her head-

Well, anyone who wants to be a God have to be narcissistic so i would not weight that on him, but I donโt necessarily say that heโs choosing for her. I do see his points - just because Aisling didnโt be in love with Kalan, it couldโve felt really bad to see them together, even with the fact that she had that choice specifically for Gwen, to have a life.
Cussundria Kneal
"I will not make a choice for her." But you ARE, you dick. By intentionally keeping Aisling in the dark, intentionally withholding the information that Gwen is looking for her, is banging on your realm's door, demanding to see Aisling, you are making that choice for Aisling. YOU are choosing FOR Aisling that she remain there! You not just choosing for Aisling, you are DEPRIVING her of ANY choices! You're isolating her! Asshole. Manipulative, narcassistic, lying *asshole.*

Truth hurts, Gwenikan Skywalker.

Very cool how the dog eyes pop up for the first time at โhappiness.โ Ludyc doesnโt even see the parallel between the two sisters but Frankie we see you ๐

Ludyc really went *godly forehead boop* and somehow makes it derogatory

Am I a dick too if i say I like him? I mean, yeah, He is a cunt, but he is a reasonable cunt ๐
Kana
Oh fair, could be! I wonder what he thinks that is. And if he will even tell her.
Mari
I think it's more "she's on the edge of something big". Some big decision (like, say, at a crossroad)
Micky
Sheโs gonna wake up and be like โsoโฆyour dads a prickโ
Ainsley
I do hope that whatever is chosen they do get the chance to talk. Hopefully once a decision is made what she's 'forgotten' will come back and she can explain why she felt the need to run away. I know she sacrificed a lot in order for Gwen to no longer be used as a child soldier, and that's probably not all she's had to go through.
Kana
A very fair point! It might be true, too, but also might not be, though! These are the words of Ludyc, but they might not be Aisling's words. They seem very possible from what we know, but there is so much that Gwen can't know at this point... Gosh, these girls have so much to talk about. I think even if Aisling stays, Gwen would want to hear it from her, and not the god who is her keeper - again, we don't know in what sense. I'm veeery interested what all this will lead to ๐
Mzee
The Lesbian in me has been real silent since this god dropped
Kana
I WILL bite a god. What a rude thing to say to her, that she is on her own precipice. I understand this to mean that she is the cause of her own problems, which renders all her struggles meaningless. Dude, you have no idea what "caring" means.
Kana
Maybe not the biggest dick, but a dick for sure, due to his own alienness towards human/mortal nature. He knows Aisling might make a different choice should he tell her that Gwen is looking for her with all she's got, and he doesn't want himself to be the catalyst of that, and even if he means it in a totally selfless way (which i doubt tbh, from the "well sucks to be you, if she chooses me over you" tone he just dished there, but that's my opinion), he is still depriving her of an informed choice. Aisling might be thinking no one would miss her anyway, which is untrue.
WanderfulGypsy
Also Frankie, you are once again 10/10 with the captions. They always enhance the comic ๐ฅโจ
WanderfulGypsy
Am I the only one that thinks he isn't being the biggest dick? Like he genuinely wants Aisling to make the best decision for herself
Stolby
Gwen might be related to Aisling's traumas, so it mighta been a package deal of forgetting, probably Kalan too. ๐ข
Ainsley
But her crossroads isn't if Gwen cares or not. I'm sure Asling knows she does. It's if her happiness is more important than her family (to her). She might feel more compelled to choose her family if she knows Gwen is looking for her. Even if that meant going back and being unhappy.
Joanna Strange
But he's not offering her a choice because she doesn't know Gwen is there
Ainsley
On one hand, I get it. Everyone has to make their own path, and sometimes that's best without outside interference. On the other hand... Why he gotta be a dick about it?
maria
