From the Poem, it feels like 7 gods claimed their domains, whereas the others stole from the first wizard.

Awesome chapter

Armo

It would explain why the owl respected Hump’s determination to protect the seals!

Hell 5pawn

I think it's possible the 12 seals are actually sealing away the pantheon of the 12 themselves. Almost like the Great Tree. It'd be one hell of a twist.

I’m kinda hoping Bud goes in a path opposite Hump after the immediate warlock threat arc concludes. It’d be fun to see a Batman V Superman type fight between the 2, as Bud stands by his gods, even as he admits they might not be exactly what he’d been led to believe and Hump is forced to stand against them - both to end the coming threat and bc said gods would otherwise kill him

NameGame

I'm curious where this is going, and what happens to Bud's power if he breaks free from his god. How does it progress? Does it progress? Does he need to become a wizard? Does Hump's ongoing examination of runes allow for future runes to be selected and bound to Bud by conscious choice, rather than selected for him, potentially allowing for non-ice runes like a healing rune or fire or light? Changing out already bound runes? Well, guess I'll be spacing out wondering a lot today. Thanks for the chapter.

I get the weird feeling Bud's Paladin progression is going from Oath of Devotion to Oathbreaker when he confronts Godfrey or even Kelisia herself and sees the truth of the Pantheon for himself. After that, depending on how dark Alex makes the story Bud becomes an Oath of Vengeance paladin. If Alex keeps the story light-hearted I can picture an Oath of Redemption paladin Bud. By Alex making the story dark, I mean a party member getting killed by a Pantheon God, likely either Emilia or Celaine since they're a martial practitioner and 'heretic' god follower respectively. Dylan is probably safe since he's the Chosen of a God allied with the Pantheon. Hump is safest since he has plot armour... unless Hump gets killed and then resurrected sometime later, either way he isn't staying permanently dead.

That was really well done. Managing to keep their beliefs some what in tact but also allowing for either one to see the ‘truth’ of the other while leaving open the fact that this will be a large topic moving forward. I also really like that this didn’t ruin their friendship as well as the line of Hump doing whatever he possibly could for his friends I feel is huge foreshadowing!!

Dylan Alexander

It’s hard for someone who’s been indoctrinated all their life to see things from an outside perspective.

that was really well navigated mate

Armo

Aw, Bud is such a good friend! I really hope the seed of doubt Hump planted helps him rather than hinders him. Maybe Bud could use it to fool a warlock he’s actually switched sides at a critical moment? Hump’s such a bro. ‘I’d fight the gods for you guys’ - jeez dude. You massive sap. And so, hopefully this help avoid the situation Celaine warned about where this secret starts infighting within the group. I wonder what’s up with the Pantheon. If I had to guess, they are really busy fighting other gods wherever they are (space?), and don’t really have time to drop in on specific worlds. They were exiled from this world until the War of the Firmament, after all. And a final thought - I really think using the word ‘objective’ in conversations like this is a horrible tactic. Nothing against the writing, just my personal thoughts on the word - somebody is going to take it as an attack on themselves.
