[Important] Going Forward
🕑 Added 2022-08-21 20:49:18 +0000 UTCI think the title says it all. When I woke up today, I saw that we blew past the goal and it's still rising. It honestly feels surrel. I didn't expect this for months, years, or ever. When I started spending every bit of free time writing to get 3 chapters out each within a week or so of each other, I expected a little uptick.
Not hitting the goal in only days.
Nonetheless, we hit the goal and I intend to honor it, though I'm going to play this safe. If writing is going to be a large part of my life going forward, I feel like I should lay out a bit of info for you all.
Considering Patreon is a volatile income source, I'm not going to be reducing my hours right away. I will still do my best to keep my update pace, but I want to see where we are after the 1st of the month rolls over and maybe a little beyond that. If things look well, then I'll cut back on working in favor of writing. I might also offer other donation avenues like a SubscribeStar or something just in case Patreon decides they don't like me for some reason. I would hate to come to a happy arrangement with everyone only for the payment processer to pull the rug from under us all for whatever reason.
With the extra time and reduced stress, I hope to cut my update time from its average of once every 30 days to something closer to 10 days, give or take. I won't promise any one thing will get priority, but I'll do my absolute best to get something out barring unusual circumstances like illness or big life events. If something does pop up that might cause a delay, I'll let you know. The higher we go, the more comfortable I'll be working less and writing more.
But I cannot stress this enough. There are some things I want everyone to keep in mind
An uncomfortable number of you frankly too generous people jumped to the highest tier. I can understand $2.50 or $5. That's a coffee or a fast food sandwich skipped a month. $10 is also kind of reasonable I guess. Thats an expensive subscription to some big-name service, but I know I've spent more on less so I cannot judge. $25 was because someone asked for it, and $50 was for someone much too generous who gave more than the previous highest of $25. If you ignore any part of this post, make sure this isn't it:
1. Only pledge what you can comfortably pledge.
2. Never hesitate to downgrade or delete a pledge if you need to.
With that out of the way, I want to thank all of you even if this is a flash in the pan. This kind of support is the stuff of dreams, and I hope I can keep writing for everyone for years to come.

Hey you got some quality work here i intend to keep mine for the long haul you fill a hole no one else really does or comes close to filling. Not only that you stick to your morals/claims major respect for that.
I pledged just to be on the up and up on your status and update situations mainly. But if life permits, I'll most likely be upping mine to a higher tier. Simply because I enjoy the kind of writing and content you put out. Also doesn't hurt that both of the pokemon stories have highly favored pokemon as the main partners. You'd be stunned at the lack of fleshed out stories that don't have one of the more popular mons. So you're doing god's work, son.

Hopefully the Patreon income doesn't fluctuate a lot so it doesn't fuck up your plans. As a side note: you are in no way responsible for random people's use of their money, especially considering how much you've discouraged big spending so go buy yourself a sandwich.
And it’s still going up….. better watch out that 3000$ goal is getting a bit close for comfort

Not surprised at all that you met your goals tbh. I am more than happy to emulate a Fry meme if the story is interesting to me, even more so if it mean i get more chapters.

Take my money, you have earned it. Happy to see your dreams come true. Please make sure not to burn yourself out. If you aren't having fun writing a story, either write something you will have fun writing or take a break. I love your work for it's quality and I don't want to see you compromise that because you are worried about the number of updates.

I subbed due to message also. I cannot sub much more than this as currently does not have work but this amount is what I can do for 6 months in least. :) Borne of stories is amazing and well written, and I know you cannot sell them as books, due to licensed stuff so patreon is best way, really, to collect small amount of income in least from those stories.
