Dude. Born of caution is one of my favorite pokemon fics. I wish you the best of luck. Please don't feel obligated and try to force it thru. If it's just not coming out it to the wayside until the euraka breakthrough happens (I have no doubt that It will!!!)

I don't know if this is applicable at all, but I was told something during a time when I was really struggling to get through a creative block and it helped me so now I'll share it with you. Apply the sentiment as needed: The terrible consequence of exercising a skill is that after a time, we hone that skill so acutely that our standards for the results raise dramatically. You weren't able to reach a creative flow easier back when you were first starting out, you've just practiced so much that the end result fails to reach your new standards. Don't fall on your own sword and start to believe the lie that you've somehow lost the knack for doing what you do. Recognize instead that while your talents have grown, so too have your expectations for yourself. We are often our own harshest critic. Wishing you the best in getting through the slog. Hoping you can still manage to turn a joyful eye on the things that you produce. 💛

Bud, BoC is by far one of my favorite Pokémon fan fics. If it is your "weakest" then dam I want to see your strongest. Wish you the best of luck.

Keep it up!

Jarring moments may feel awkward and hard to write as an author regardless of how they're written. Your characters are doing most of the heavy lifting though; if you work backwards from how your characters react you may find yourself a compelling way of implementing that information or moment in a way that feels more natural. Just avoid gimmicks and don't sacrifice the story for it honestly. The more interaction your characters feel for the event the easier it'll be to write.

This is the beauty of having multiple simultaneous projects. When one is proving difficult you can set it down and switch to another one to prevent burnout. I can't be unhappy because I'll read whichever one comes out just as voraciously. You've also cleverly made your stories key characters thematically similar, which helps prevent yourself from mentally distancing from any particular story while working on the others. Honestly, I should be taking notes to help with my own creative endeavors. I respect the level you hold yourself too, as it's the same level of quality I would want to see in my own creative writing. You shouldn't put yourself down, BoC and your other stories are consistently higher quality than most of the other serial stories I'm following. I'm willing to wait for that, especially since I understand the amount of thought and stress behind the quality. The fact that your chugging along producing such good work is something I aspire to.

Duke of Coffee

So no Mega Ninetales only Mega Sceptile? 😛

Flygar

Take your time, I'm supporting you since I think your worth it, less so for a guaranteed output. You got this

I guess 2nd is good enough…for now.

I feel like if BoC is the weakest you can offer you’re still in a really good position, take your time and whatever you end up being happy with should be good for all of us. I imagine planning ahead can get tough, i’m going into teaching and planning ahead for a term is bad enough i feel like doing something similar creatively is probably a nightmare

Take your time with BoC, I started reading the fiction because I enjoyed your vision of the pokemon world
