Before everyone dives in, I wanted to say something about the Patreon post I made earlier. Upon looking back on it, it really came off as me unduly bellyaching about the recent policy change on Royal Road. Monetizing fanfiction is a weird legal gray area, and it's their right to dictate what is gucci and what isn't because the site belongs to them. This change does negatively affect me financially, but I could have used a more appropriate tone.

...just a small complaint.... Feel like Latias shouldnot be too good of a battler. Just saying that ..... Okay how big of a game changer is Latias anyway. Cause I feel like Brendan should avoid relying too much on her.

Well, they are saying if you are promoting your work on our site, you can't link to competition here. It would be like having an ad for a competitors store while inside another store. It's not really done. That said, I do have to ask the eternal question of how the monetization will work and how much the author would get compared to a platform like patreon. Is it worth it for the author, and is the visibility worth it? Because posting your work on a site like royal road can help greatly with that. There is a reason Steam sells most PC games, and developers give them a cut. So I do think Fug has every right to be upset while at the same time understanding he doesn't have to take his business to RR if it becomes annoying to work with. This doesn't mean politeness can't be a thing if no one is being an ass to him.

Fuckin’ dope. Brendan’s path to becoming a Champion tier force just had some wrinkles ironed out of it. With Lee’s Ninetails and Zinnia’s upcoming Salamance, Brendan had been missing a qualitatively superior heavy hitter. I’d been thinking he might be the first of the three to achieve mega to put him on par, but this will prevent him from peaking too early.

Nah, RR has the right to do that, we all have the right to be pissed off about it. I see why this one was difficult, but personally I have no issue with it, particularly on reading the pokedex entries. And yes, the elder birch's reaction promises to be entertaining.
