I do love some of the unintentional humor of the report email. Stating Latias as being 380 makes me realize how funny the numbering system is. That’d be like in our world publishing a paper on squirrels (animal number 35) lol. Makes sense for a collecting/discovery game but that researchers are saddled with that system because trainer culture is so dominant is hilarious. Although now that I think about it, maybe it’s more like the SCP numbering system where number progression makes sense as it also tracks the development of the foundation’s knowledge.

Actually the subtext told me it's the opposite. his pokemon appear to be trying to eat less for his sake. Andre straight up told his Absol he would have to eat more, or else he would force him to eat. that doesn't sound like Andre's starving them, that sounds like he's been through hard times and his pokemon are too selfless.

I really enjoyed all the pov shifts for this chapter as it really feels like the last episode of a season one show before diving into season 2

Andre becomea more troubling. I had a lot of sympathy for his anti-authority and anti-nepotism, but allowing his pokemon to go without is too far. Swallow is an absolute fucking madlad. What a boss. For some reason, Ash's bit makes me think of the tired joke about olympic equestrianism. "The horse did all the work! He should get the medal!" Octillery continues to fascinate. Lastly, who are the RVI?

Absolutely brilliant. I have a feeling that Octillery's inevitable epiphany is going to be a deeply emotional moment in the story. So excited for Grovyle to evolve as well. What a great chapter! Love how the perspective transitioned between multiple plot points, giving us a high light reel of what to expect next. I wonder where Courtney will go now? Sure hope she doesn't turn up and bother Brendan again.

Octillery's POV is the most fascinating one to me. It helps that he is so introspective and doesn't handwave anything unexplainable, simply because that'd hurt his intellectual pride. It's because of that he recognizes that there's something off with him- something he can't share with the team. LOL @ Birch. He's so done with the gang's nonsense, even if it's raking in the research fundings.
