Short Break

After doing some thinking and considering the advice many of you have given me, I've decided to take a short, one-week break. As I said a few posts ago, I'm getting close to burnout with Borne of Caution, but I wanted to hit a good stopping point before I shifted my attention to other projects for a bit. In pushing myself, I think I just made the problem worse, doing a disservice to you and me. I want to make the best possible stories for you all, and I'm not doing that by trying to force out (and subsequently ruin) such a critical chapter in BoC's story. In recognition of that, I'm going to pause writing until March 11th to clear my head.
I won't be totally idle in that time, however. I did say in one of my previous patron goals that I wanted to seek a more formal education in writing, and I'm doing just that. Starting this coming Monday, I'll be attending a series of creative writing workshops and foundational writing seminars that run all week, and I hope to return refreshed and ready to make something bigger and better than ever for you all. (Since these classes are in-person, I'll have to decline sharing much more to keep some anonymity) All of you made this possible, as signing up for all of this incurred a not-insignificant fee and requires time that a full-time job would not allow. You all take such good care of me, and I cannot thank you enough for it.
I'll still be somewhat active on the discord, and I'll keep an eye on Patreon if you need me, though it may take me some time to respond to any messages starting Monday. I'll have an updated approx release date after the 11th. In the meantime, I might post snippets of other things.

Definitely seems like the right call and it looks like others agree, glad you’re prioritising your wellbeing instead of forcing it. As others have said consider taking more of a break if the workshops keep your burnout going in a sense. Your work is always of such a high quality that it’s amazing you’ve lasted this long without major burnout, and I think most would agree that a chapter every month or even longer is infinitely better than trying to force yourself or dropping it entirely. Keep healthy and enjoy your break!

Honestly take your time. Personally i would very much be fine with you saying 1 chapter every 4-6 weeks. Quality over quantity. Take your time, clear your head and write or do what you feel like. Dont force. I enjoy this series and i have seen to many good storys seen ruined because people burned out or just stopped careing about what they wrote as they only saw the deadline for the chapter.
