6 months. I spent 6 months in the Bright-verse, constantly healing people, which was very lucrative. I got 1,000 points for the baby I revived the first time I arrived at the hospital, and from then on, I was just showering in points. Parents and hospital staff were then leading me and Tikka to others in similar situations, allowing me to heal or revive them. I only got 500 points for healing people with terminal diseases, but compared to the 10 points I normally gained, it was a hell of a lot better.
After an hour of healing people and reviving the dead, getting constant praise and thanks from the loved ones of the patients, Tikka finally accepted the offer to be my apprentice. I wasn’t surprised. She was looking for a purpose better than reviving a long-dead Dark Lord, something that would allow her to contribute good to the world. I was easily her best option. So when I wasn’t healing and reviving people, I was teaching her all the spells I got from her sister’s head.
She wouldn’t have a Wand to use her sister’s spells, I chose not to make one for her so that the government would be less of a hassle when I left, but at least she would know what was possible if she had one. I decided to teach her some Skyrim spells as a consolation though. Soon enough, she was healing people with [Healing Hands] while I dealt with the more terminal situations. Her magical quantity would allow for more than healing cuts and broken bones.
Speaking of the government, Ward and Jakoby were given medals ...and spies tried to poison me. Multiple times. Not to kill, more to knock me out, most likely because I had yet to commit a crime. But as time went on, they increased their potency so much with each try that they gave up trying altogether and just left me be. They had someone constantly near us as we went around healing but didn’t do much beyond that. The fan base I had grown as time went on wouldn’t have allowed it.
To stop me would have been to start a war with all the people in the world who had lost a loved one, and there was nothing more dangerous than a group of people trying to save their family…or pet. The John Wick movie existed in that verse, so…yeah.
After the first month of going around healing people, they started coming to find me in the expanded tent we lived in instead of me having to go looking for them. They gave gifts, cars, money, private jets, you name it. I didn’t need the money, so it went to Tikka. She refused at first, but I told her when I left, she would need a way to feed herself and travel from place to place, helping as many people as possible. A healthy bank account never harmed anyone.
Our constant healing visits led to several debates on Magic in the news. People primarily argued it could be used to make the world a better place, like how ‘The Doctor’ was, and others argued that I was an exception and that most people would be inclined to cause harm, so they should take the chance. I got a ridiculous amount of requests for apprenticeships but turned them down, stating that they would have to be deemed worthy for me to teach them, and I have no time to set aside to check millions of people’s character.
By the time I left, Tikka could heal a handful of people an hour, having increased her magic pool through months of constant use. She had an expanded Mokeskin Pouch she could put her stuff in, an expanded tent to stay in when finding shelter gets tough and an Enchanted surfboard to fly around on. All tied to her blood to prevent theft or use against her.
“So, you have created a spell to heal terminally ill muggles, but you need to check Astoria once more so you can adjust your spell to cure her condition?” Lord Greengrass’s voice broke me out of my thoughts, a faint glimmer of hope in his eyes.
“Yes, you heard right,” I nodded. “I’ve confirmed it works on muggle terminal illnesses. But magical illnesses are obviously different, hence the need for alteration. If I double-check Astoria’s magic and the particulars of the curse once more, I should be able to adjust it for her tonight. If that’s not possible, then I’ll just leave you with some more Health potions like originally planned.”
Cyrus regarded me for a while, weighing my words. After a pause, he leaned forward slightly. “Would you mind if we tested it on another first, just to be absolutely sure of its effects? As much as I trust your skill with magic, I’d prefer to be cautious where my daughter is concerned.”
“I don’t mind at all,” I replied, giving the man a slight shrug. “But, I don’t exactly know anyone else with the Maledictus.”
I may have been gone for 6 months, but it was only 2 weeks in the Wizarding World thanks to the time dilation of [Dimensional Hopscotch], so I could understand his scepticism. It was weird enough that I had accomplished all I had done so far, but curing a curse countless had failed to in only 2 weeks after graduating. It would have been odd if he didn’t test it first.
“True,” Cyrus murmured, fingers interlocking as he delved into his thoughts. “But I will be able to find someone. Better yet, I will be able to get confirmation from the Ministry to conduct the test.”
“Sure,” I nodded. “Let me make the alteration before you go through all the trouble. While you do your thing, I’ll examine Astoria again and fine-tune the spell tonight. When you’re ready, just let me know.”
Cyrus’ expression softened. “Thank you, John. My wife should be back with Astoria in a moment.”
I nodded. I wasn’t surprised to hear Astoria was currently with a tutor on the other side of the manor, far enough for his wife to have been gone for the last 10 minutes to retrieve her. The benefits and drawbacks of being rich as fuck, I suppose.
“Do you want it known that you were the one to heal her should this work as planned?” Cyrus asked. “I can help spread the word if you would like, or I can find a way to keep it quiet if necessary.”
“Honestly, I’m not bothered either way.” I shrugged. “I have a few other projects I plan to work on, like the werewolf affliction, the Vampire affliction, etc. Spreading the word wouldn’t hurt, but going overboard, I find, tends to make people less likely to believe it even happened.”
Cyrus nodded before leaning back in his chair, sinking into his thoughts. As for the spell itself, I had already completed it while in the Bright verse. I just wanted a quick check to ensure it was a perfect fit before heading to the Dwarves to deliver the next batch of Dragon Silver products for sale. Apparently, they had finished their plans to create a bank of their own to rival the Goblins but wanted my help with getting it done.
Soon enough, the door to the study we were sitting in opened, and Lady Greengrass stepped in, followed closely by a beaming Astoria. Her face lit up the moment she saw me, and without hesitation, she ran over and wrapped me in a tight hug. "John!" she exclaimed, practically beaming with energy. "I’m so happy to see you!"
I returned the hug, giving her a gentle squeeze before pulling back slightly, ignoring the silent conversation Lord and Lady Greengrass were having with their eyes. "It’s good to see you too, Astoria," I said, smiling down at the girl. "How’ve you been? And how are the health potions treating you?"
Astoria wrinkled her nose. “Well, they’re still better than all the others,” She laughed and then asked, “Are you here to drop some more off? Will you be staying over like over Yule? Can you finally teach me how to conjure those wolves?”
I chuckled. “In order. Yes, that’s part of why I’m here. I’ll be here for a day, I just wanted to check up on you for now. I’ll take a closer look before I head out later. No, I think you should learn normal conjuration before trying to move on to things like that. ”
She looked dejected at the last part but hugged me again, this time a little stronger. “Congratulations on graduating, by the way! So, what are you planning to do now?”
I shrugged. “I’ve got my Mastery lined up with Nicolas Flamel,” I said, ignoring the shared look between Cyrus and his wife. “It was confirmed before I even left Hogwarts two weeks ago, so I’ll be pretty busy over the next few months with that.” See Astoria’s confused look, I explained. “He’s the guy that did Dumbledore’s Mastery.”
Astoria’s eyes widened. “That’s awesome!”
“Thanks,” I gently placed a hand on Astoria’s shoulder. “Alright, let’s take a look at you.”
Astoria nodded vigorously, like Poppy would after being given a task, and stood still, letting me examine her. I made a show of focusing intently, letting my magic flow through her, feeling for the signature of the blood curse. By the looks of it, the spell I adjustment would work just fine, with no drawback aside from having to learn control for a few weeks. An increase in total magic a person can use tends to do that. With the Meledictus curse no longer using her magic against her, she will finally be at regular magical capacity.
After a few moments, I let go of her hand and stepped back, looking satisfied with what I’d gathered. Looking over at Cyrus, I asked, “Do you have a room where I can work? I’ll be in my expanded briefcase and will get back to you in a few hours.”
I wanted to get back to Enchanting one of the unnecessarily expensive motor homes I was gifted after healing one of the wealthier patients. It was the 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 from the first John Wick movie, and I had already Enchanted it to self-repair, self-cleaning and all the other basic Enchantments. I even added the Dragon Enchantment method to its components for extra badassery, but I hit a snag trying to find a way to get it running on magic alone, removing the need for external fuel.
Cyrus nodded. “Of course. You can have the same one you were in over Yule,” he replied, gesturing to Lady Greengrass, who stood to lead the way.
I gave the man a reassuring nod before turning to a beaming Astoria, gently ruffling her hair. “I’ll see you soon, Astoria.”
On the way to the room, I made some small talk with Evelyn, mostly about Daphne and how her education was going. I got the feeling she didn’t want to talk much about the possibility of my spell working in a few hours but felt it would work at some point in the future. Like she had hope for future success but was treating today more like progress rather than a potential conclusion.
After hours of adding more [Golems] to the Hoard and Enchanting vehicles, I finally stepped out of my Enchanted briefcase. Closing the briefcase, shrinking it and placing it back on its spot on my Enchanted necklace, I sensed a House Elf waiting outside the door.
“Master Dragon, sir,” The Elf squeaked, looking up at me as I stepped out of the room. “The Greengrass family be waiting for you in the study. They be ready to leave shortly for St. Mungo’s, along with a guest.”
“Thank you. Lead the way.” I nodded, thinking it was most likely a family member of the person I would be healing. The Elf turned and guided me down the corridors, and soon enough, we reached the grand study. Inside, Lord Greengrass stood alongside Lady Greengrass and the always visibly excited Astoria. Beside them was an older wizard dressed in fine robes bearing the crest of St. Mungo’s.
“Ah, Mr. Grey,” Cyrus greeted me with a smile while I was hugging Astoria. “Allow me to introduce you to Director Alden Thorne of St. Mungo’s Hospital.”
Letting the girl go, I stepped forward, extending my hand. “Mr. Grey,” The Director said, clasping my outstretched hand firmly. “It’s an honour to meet you and congratulations on your graduation. Today holds immense promise, witnessing such a monumental day is truly a privilege. I hope everything goes as well as Lord Greengrass illuded.”
I inclined my head in acknowledgement. “The honour’s mine, Director Thorne. I’ve double-checked the spell, and I’m optimistic about today’s accomplishment.”
Director Thorne’s face lit up with a slight smile. “With what I’ve heard from Lord Greengrass, your methods could change the landscape of magical healing in ways we haven’t seen in generations. Even if the spell doesn’t succeed as intended, St Mungos would be willing to purchase the potion used to help young Astoria if possible, after they are approved by the Ministry of course.”
Ah, so the worst case scenario is they get access to my [Health Potions], best case they have a person who can cure [Melidictus]. I have no doubt there will be several people observing me when I do the spell, trying to copy or replicate it.
Looking over to Cyrus, he answered my unasked question. “Director Thorne was able to get the relevant forms signed and expedited to allow for you to try as soon as possible, for the spell and the potion. They would just need to be tested on someone and then observed by other Ministry Healers to confirm the effect.
“Indeed,” Director Thorne nodded, reaching into his pocket and producing a small silver medallion. “If everyone’s ready, let’s be on our way. Here’s our Portkey.”
Holding it out, we all gathered around, touching the enchanted object. A quick [Observe] let me know it wasn’t a trap aimed to take us elsewhere. After saying the activation phrase, we were gone.

Arriving at the entrance hall of St. Mungo’s, Nurses and healers glanced their way, whispering amongst themselves. No doubt they were already informed of the test. The Director led us through the sterile halls of the Hospital, guiding us toward a private room where the first trial was set to take place. As we approached the room, I immediately noticed the observation section separated by enchanted glass, where several individuals sat with notepads. I called it.
Catching my glance toward the observers, Director Thorne leaned in to speak, “They’re here from the Ministry. Just to ensure everything goes smoothly, observing the spell’s effects firsthand. Merely a consensus, if you will.”
I nodded in understanding before turning my attention to the room. Laying on the bed was a young, pale girl with a frail frame and sunken dark circled eyes. “Hello,” I greeted the girls as I approached, offering her a small smile. “I’m John. I’m here to help you if possible, but I suppose you already know that with signing the relevant form ‘n all.”
The girl’s eyes widened slightly, and she managed a weak smile, nodding in acknowledgement. Her gaze darted to who I assumed to be her parents in normal robes behind the observation glass before turning back to give me an amused smile. “You’re a little young. I thought Healers were supposed to have a few extra wrinkles.” She muttered.
“Well,” I shrugged. “You know what they say, ‘results matter more than age’.”
The girl’s eyebrows knitted together in confusion. “I…is that actually a saying?”
Even Director Thorne was a little confused as he stepped back, gesturing for me to take the reigns. “Feel free to begin whenever you’re ready, Mr. Grey.”
I made a show of lifting my hands, as I began to channel [Healing Hands], allowing the familiar golden light to surround the girl. I only now realised I had yet to ask her name. Something I realised I stopped doing while in the Bright-verse the more people I healed. At some point, my body would just go into autopilot, heal a person, then tell them they should pass on some good deeds to others whenever they ask if there is anything they can do to thank me.
The room fell into a hushed silence as the golden light did its work, weaving around her, sinking into her skin and into the curse itself. I could feel the Healers using their magic to both analyse the spell and the girl’s condition. To those who could sense it, the dark traces of the [Maledictus] curse began to fade, melting away under the altered [Healing Hands] effects.
By the time I cancelled [Healing Hands], the observers in the observer’s section were leaning forward, scribbling furiously on their notepads. The girl blinked, looking much better. With her newfound strength, she slowly sat up, clenching and unclenching her hand as she asked in disbelief, “Did…did it work?”
Director Thorne stepped forward, still checking over the girl with his magic. “Remarkable,” he murmured. “Mr. Grey, you’ve… done something extraordinary today.” He said absentmindedly as he waved the others beyond the glass to come and check. “We will thoroughly check her over and give a verdict, please, if you wouldn’t mind?”
Hearing the dismissal for what it was, I took a step back, allowing the entering Healers to examine the patient with all the diagnosis spells they knew. Being so used to grateful patients and family members thanking me, I just threw the girls a nonchalant wave over my shoulder as I walked out of the room. “Yep, just pass on the good deed to the next person and all that.”
“So, how long is the wait until they confirm?” I asked Cyrus, meeting him and his family who were waiting outside the room. They were looking at me like I had grown a second head.
“They…they said the check would take around an hour,” Cyrus broke the silence after a few seconds of looking from the healed girl in the room surrounded by healers and back to myself. It was the first time I’d seen him this out of it, but I have no doubt he’ll be more out of it an hour from now.
I guess the Dwarves will have to wait another hour.

In the dimly lit chamber of the Department of Mysteries, several Unspeakables sat around a circular table, the hoods of their robes concealing their features. One reached a hand and apple magic to a rune near the middle of the table, causing a faint glow to emanate from the runes etched into the table, travelling to the chairs along the floor and moving to the door. The door’s Runes brightened momentarily before the room returned to its dimly lit state.
“We did all the checks before he was allowed to use it on others,” An Unspeakable broke the silence in the monotonous tone the Department was known for. “Johnathan Grey’s spell worked perfectly to cure the Maledictus curse. After the first use was confirmed to work, he then cured Astoria Greengrass and three additional patients. Each case was independently confirmed by the Healers—every trace of the blood curse was eradicated.”
“Cypher and I could feel and observe his magic in action simply enough, and yet…” Another Unspeakable shook their head as they spoke. “None of our attempts to replicate it have been successful.”
A third voice spoke up. “We concluded there’s a possibility the boy conducted a ritual of some kind to guard his spells and potions. Any outsider attempting to access such spells would be met with nothing but failure, much like our attempts with his ‘Health Potion’ obtained from Lord Greengrass’ own attempt.”
The Unspeakables around the table nodded, murmuring their agreement. Family magic theft was a well-documented phenomenon, and it wouldn’t be the first time a powerful bloodline had safeguarded spells in this way.
“Any chance of getting our hands on that ritual, Croaker?” Another Unspeakable asked, looking at the first. “And the recipe for the potion as well, if possible.”
The first Unspeakable leaned back, considering. “He’s too protected. Dumbledore, the Flamels, several Wazingmot seats. He’s amassed quite a number of allies. He’s off-limits for now. Unfortunately, we’ve yet to make any progress changing that.” Craoker shook his head. “He may still not have been granted a licence as a Healer, but he was given a licence to use that specific spell by a representative of the International Confederation of Wizards. A medal is already lined up for him in a few weeks.”
“The Minister?” Cypher asked.
“Delayed, distracted, and kept in the dark, rather strategically. Lord Greengrass seemed to want the boy’s deed spread but seemed to want to minimise the political tampering this soon,” Croaker replied without missing a beat.
“Time turner?” Cypher asked, considering the possibility of going back in time to find the boy’s secrets before the spotlight was this bright on him to obtain his secrets. “Worst case scenario, a person only loses a year. Worth it for a spell like that, it's too important to be kept to one person alone.”
“Oracle was finally given permission an hour ago to make the trip,” Croaker replied. “The ritual the boy used seemed to create a Dragon in the time stream.”
“…What?”
Croaker chuckled mirthlessly. “There is literally an ethereal dragon that appears, forcibly sending our people back, preventing them from trying to change anything regarding the boy directly.” He then rested his forehead on the palm of his hand as he sighed. “We don’t currently know how, but the Time Department is currently looking into it, and I might add that they seem rather frustrated. The creature doesn’t stop people from going back to do other things, just not change anything about the boy’s life. Observing the boy doesn’t seem to manifest the creature, though. So at least there’s that as a consolation.”
There was a pause as the Inhabitants exchanged glances, before Cypher spoke again. “At least that explains why they seem so irritable. Does the same phenomenon happen with the Alchemist or the Headmaster?”
“No,” Croaker shook his head as he leaned back in his chair. “We checked them to be sure. Either they didn’t seem to consider adding the ritual to themselves and considered the boy significantly more important, someone else applied it to the boy, or the boy did it himself.”
“And you think the boy did it himself,” Another Unspeakable added.
”Indeed,” Croaker nodded, not denying the statement as he placed a hand on his chin. “His physical growth seemed to have skipped at least a few months in only 2 weeks based on our observations. We have no doubt whatever he did must have been done during the 2 weeks he was accounted for.”
“Hmm, have we made any progress with Riddle’s soul? Dumbledore only gave us a few months to find a way to have its other piece safely removed from another.”
The rest of the night was spent deliberating their discoveries and finding ways to either counter, replicate or better monitor the spells and potions of the newly licenced Meledictus Healer.

John is now physically 13 due to the time spent in Bright, and the fuck-tonne of points he got is because he spent almost his entire time there healing people and teaching Tikka. With the spells for [Revive] and healing the terminally ill, the only reason it wasn’t higher is due to travel time from place to place.
[Dimensional Hopscotch] will also add two more travel locations after another 6 months. It follows his personal time stream, not the time of the Potter-verse.
FYI: I need a ship for him to use while in Star Wars after The Witcher. A small one for whipping around in and a larger one… because why not? If they could look cool and not have the ability to lay waste to an entire planet instantly, that would be great. Also, it has to work in the Star Wars universe, so no weird fuel requirements either. Now, hit me! Our boy a’ millionaire now!

I love the Slipspace drive, I can't believe it almost slipped my mind. Now that you mention AIs, I'm pretty sure there was some evil AI in Star Wars, but I could be wrong.

The Scimitar's a good choice. Great for tracking an cloaking. Though, depending on the timeline he ends up in, he could always take Maul's.

As always, thank you. I'm more partial to the sleeker ships on this list. I love the suggestions, though. If I had to choose one small and large, I would have selected Kom'rk-class fighter/transport and Marauder-class corvette.

He could get a unsc prowler from halo combined with covenant tech and active camouflage and make the hull near indestructible with enchantments. And with a slipspace drive nothing can stop it and its not limited to warp entrances or hyperlanes. Nothing can track it and if it does get shot at its incredibly durable. And if you throw in unsc smart ais. He has someyhing that can help him research magic tech. Anything while piloting his ship while hes away
