I'm trying to get those $10 chapters out as fast as possible so I can make it an official tier, and also so readers can see what's coming.
It's a little frustrating that readers with less patience on Royal Road keep giving the story bad reviews when what they're saying is going to be completely incorrect in like... 10 more chapters. Oh well. I knew I was taking a risk with a slower burn (to start with) story on RR.
I had forgotten how frustrating it can be to have a story reviewed on the first few chapters instead of its entirety. And unlike Amazon, readers can't see reviews from folks who have read the entire book when they walk into it.
Anyway, I'm going to keep putting new chapters out. I think this one is going to kill on Amazon.

Great writing takes time. Don’t rush it.

Unfortunately RR has its own sort of (unofficial) algorithm with reviews and readership. You really need to have a ton written before ever beginning to post. And then post 1-2 chapters a day for about 30-40 chapters before slowing the burn to about 3 chapters a week. There is no patience for a story to just develop slowly as the author writes it. Patreon tends to be more supportive and forgiving.

Web novels can be hard work for readers. You can’t just continue reading and find that your fears were incorrect. I often find myself leaving a story for a while due to this rather then reviewing it too early.
