We got started building our back deck! We’ve got…four posts in! They were extremely heavy and took a combined 320 lbs. of cement to hold into place! Absolutely ridiculous amount of weight for a nerd like me to lift and just carry around like it’s completely normal! My bones still hurt! But the important thing is that we got it started. We expect to have a mostly finish back deck sometime in Spring, working on it every weekend where it doesn’t rain on us.
Also, Leslie saw some youtube videos of really big hamster cages with lots of natural soil and sand and stuff and is obsessed with the idea of making a big hamster cage now. I know this is probably not the kind of thing you expected to read on your naughty comic blog, but that’s just where we’re at right now. It’s so serious, Leslie created a replica cage out of cardboard measured to the approximate dimensions of the theoretical future hamster cage. We’re talking like a 40-gallon cage for a hamster! Leslie’s got BIG plans for a tiny rat thing. It’s super cute, Leslie’s just really excited about this hamster cage and I love it. I think it’s gonna turn out great. If you have any tips on hamsters, let us know!
