Tricky thing, doing a scene like this. See, you need these characters to convey information to each other over the phone. However, you can't have this take as long as a typical phone call might usually last, because that's just multiple pages of characters just staring at screens. That's boring, not only for the reader but for Leslie to draw! So you gotta keep the pace tight, deliver as much information as you need to, and then wrap that shit up so the story can continue all while sounding natural enough and feeling like a logical conclusion. Writing is a lot of weird balancing acts between realistic social depictions and tightly-paced story-telling. Not saying that this is how you have to do it or that I even did it well here, but it is an interesting aspect of making comics like this, I think.

I can only imagine it's weird to write phone conversations for comics; for tv be and movies I notice they never even say "bye" before they hang up and it always seems so unnatural!
