as if I even cared about the format and structure of anything I write, it’s not perfect, and I don’t want it to be, so here; once met a boy who only knew summer, but he kept saying he loved winter and I, I got all four seasons every year on cold nights I kept thinking about summer, but I hated the hottest days when they arrived I always loved the rain and eternally wanted spring to stay but this year everything changed I just know that without him all I feel is cold I’ve never felt that hollow cold beneath my skin as fiercely as the moment I thought I’d lost him the freezing weather is nothing now, I’ve started my morning walks again, just to find out if snow could be colder than the feeling inside me and nothing compares to the world without him He took my flame along with himself, and I was so afraid he was just a fake recollection at the back of my mind, just the edge of my imagination but he is not a bad dream, nor a headache never was and never will be, nothing is his fault if it would be it’d be his as much as mine, after all of this now, i know without a doubt he’s the ember to my flame without him my fire doesn’t exist, but now, with him, it burns like a blue flame, the strongest of them all summer passed quietly, bringing us together, in fall I wanted warm nights to come back, but what kept my fire going was right in front of me, so, this time I pray to remember to let winter be winter, and let us be us, just as we are, exactly right now
