Hey everyone,
The apartment was quiet when we stepped inside, the only sound the soft creak of the floorboards beneath our feet. Jose and Cooper were out, probably taking beers somewhere, which I was thankful for. The last thing I needed was their relentless questions about the night.
I turned to lock the door behind us, only to notice Bennett leaning against the kitchen counter, rubbing at his arm. “Hey,” I said, narrowing my eyes as I stepped closer. “You’re bleeding.”
He glanced down at the thin line of red streaking his forearm, a few small cuts from the shattered glass. “It’s nothing,” he said with a shrug, but his wince told a different story.
“Nothing, huh?” I grabbed his other arm and pulled him toward the sink. “Sit. Let me take care of it.”
“Eli—”
“Sit,” I insisted, pointing to the barstool. He sighed but complied, watching me rummage through the cabinet for the first-aid kit.
As I gently dabbed at his arm with a damp cloth, I could feel his eyes on me, the weight of his gaze making my cheeks warm. “Thanks for coming,” I said quietly, trying to focus on cleaning the cut. “I, uh… I sent the location pin because I wasn’t sure, you know, if it’d get bad, but—”
“Good thing you did,” Bennett interrupted, his voice softer now. “I got it right as I was heading home. Saw where you were, and I knew something wasn’t right.”
I glanced up at him, our eyes meeting briefly before I looked away, back at the cut. “I saw you were nearby on Snap Map earlier,” I admitted. “I knew you were probably at Jasmine’s, but…”
Bennett frowned, shaking his head. “Yeah, I was. But luckily, I decided to head home early... because—” He hesitated, then waved it off. “Forget about that. What matters is I got there in time.” His voice softened, carrying a weight I couldn’t quite decipher. “What happened, Eli? The date started off normal?”
I nodded, wringing out the cloth and setting it aside. “Yeah. It was fine at first. Bowling, small talk… Jamie seemed nice. Respectful even. But then, when we got to the car…” My voice faltered as I wrapped gauze gently around Bennett’s arm. “He drove to where you found us and started… pushing. At first, it was just a little, but then it got worse. I didn’t know how far it’d go.”
Bennett’s jaw tightened, his shoulders stiffening under my touch. “You did the right thing, sending that pin. I don’t even want to think about what could’ve happened if you hadn’t.”
I secured the gauze and smoothed it gently. “There,” I said, stepping back, though my hands lingered for a moment. “All done.”
Bennett looked down at his arm, then back at me. “Thanks,” he said, his voice quieter now. For a moment, neither of us moved. His gaze softened, and a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. “I’m glad you’re okay.”
“Me too,” I said, my own voice barely above a whisper.
The moment stretched, heavy and warm, before Bennett stood, breaking the spell. “You should get some rest,” he said, ruffling my hair lightly as he passed. “You’ve had a long night.”
“Yeah,” I replied, watching as he headed toward his room. My chest felt lighter, though the memory of the night still lingered. I’d figure it out tomorrow. For now, I was just thankful he was there.
Bennett flexed his arm lightly, glancing at the gauze as if testing how much it would bother him. He gave me a small nod of thanks before heading toward his room. I went to my own room, lying down on my bed in an attempt to settle my nerves, but my thoughts wouldn’t stop racing. The night replayed over and over in my mind—the parking lot, Jamie’s hand gripping my leg, the shattering of glass. My chest felt tight, the lingering adrenaline leaving me jittery and unable to relax.
Before I could overthink it, I found myself at Bennett’s door. It was slightly ajar, and I peeked in to see him sitting on the edge of his bed, scrolling through his phone. He looked up when he saw me, his expression softening. “Hey. You okay?”
I hesitated for a moment before stepping inside. “Yeah, I just… I feel weird. Anxious, I guess.”
Bennett set his phone aside and stood, crossing the room to me. “Look, if you want to call the police, or press charges, I can drive you tomorrow. Whatever you need, Eli. Just say the word.”
I shook my head quickly, my voice barely above a whisper. “I don’t want to deal with that right now. I just…” I paused, fidgeting with the hem of my hoodie. “I just want to feel safe tonight. Is it… is it okay if I sleep here? With you?”
His brow furrowed for a moment, like he was trying to read me, but then his features softened. “Of course,” he said quietly. “Whatever makes you feel better.”
I nodded, relief washing over me as he moved to one side of the bed, patting the space next to him. I kicked off my shoes and climbed in, lying down beside him. Bennett reached over to turn off the light, and the room fell into a comfortable darkness.
As I lay there, staring at the faint glow of his alarm clock, I felt the mattress shift slightly. Bennett slid closer, his arm wrapping loosely around me. “You’re safe now,” he murmured, his voice steady and calm.
I relaxed into his warmth, the tension in my chest easing for the first time all night. “Thanks, Bennett,” I whispered, my voice heavy with exhaustion.
“Anytime,” he replied softly.

The rhythmic sound of his breathing lulled me, and before long, I drifted off, feeling safe in his arms.
I stirred slightly, the faintest hint of light filtering through the blinds. My body felt warm and cocooned, Bennett’s arm draped over me, his steady breathing brushing against the back of my neck. It was comforting—until I felt it. The unmistakable press of his erection against my butt.
My eyes shot open, and I froze, unsure what to do. As I shifted slightly to disentangle myself, Bennett stirred too. He let out a sleepy groan before blinking awake. For a second, he looked disoriented, then realization hit him. His face flushed as he quickly moved back, his hands raising defensively.
“Oh shit, sorry!” he mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck. “I didn’t—uh…”
“It’s fine,” I said softly, my voice steady despite my racing pulse. My hand reached back instinctively, brushing against the bulge in his boxers. He stiffened, and I squeezed gently, feeling him twitch under my palm.
“Didn’t Jasmine get you off?” I asked, my tone casual, even though my heart was hammering.
Bennett’s mouth opened, but no words came out at first. “Uh, I…”
I didn’t let him finish, my hand moving slowly, deliberately, over him. I didn’t want an answer—not really. His breath hitched, and for a moment, he didn’t move. Then, tentatively, his hips shifted, pressing against my hand.
“Is this okay?” he asked quietly, his voice laced with hesitation. “After everything… I mean, I don’t want to—”
“It’s okay,” I said firmly, pushing back slightly against him. “I want this.”
His breathing grew heavier as he rocked his hips gently against me, his movements careful, almost restrained. His hand trailed down my side, lingering for a moment before gripping my hip lightly. I could feel the tension in him, the way he held back, his concern palpable.
“You’re sure?” he asked again, his voice softer now.
“Yes,” I whispered, my fingers brushing over him again through the fabric. His control began to waver as he pressed harder, his breathing turning into quiet groans against my ear.
Then, after a moment, he paused. “Do you… do you have some panties you could put on?” he asked hesitantly, his voice barely audible.
I froze, the warmth and electricity between us dissipating instantly. “What?” I asked, turning slightly to look at him.
“It’s just… I thought maybe…” he trailed off, his gaze faltering.
I sat up abruptly, pulling away from him completely. “Bennett, This isn’t working,” I said, my voice sharper than I intended. “You will always be my best friend, but I think I’m pulling the plug on this fuck-buddy situation. It’s too messy.”
“Eli, wait,” he started, reaching out for me.
“No, Bennett. I’m not some girl playing dress-up. I’m me—I’m a guy, just like you.” I said firmly, my chest tightening as I stood and made my way to the door. “You need to figure out what you want, but I can’t keep doing this.”
Without waiting for a response, I stepped toward the door. “Elijah, wait!” Bennett called after me, his voice urgent. I stopped, barely turning as he half-stumbled forward, his eyes pleading.
“What?” I snapped, standing in the doorway, my hand on the frame. His chest rose and fell, his frustration palpable as he struggled to find the words.
“Eli, I’m sorry, but—”
“But what?” I interrupted, the words spilling out of me, raw and unfiltered. “I saw how jealous you were when I mentioned my date. Yes, granted, it turned into a disaster, but neither of us could’ve known that! And seriously? You’re allowed to date, but I can’t? Are you being serious?”
Bennett’s face tightened, but I kept going, the hurt and anger bubbling to the surface. “I mean, you can’t even fuck me without me looking like a girl! How do you think that makes me feel, Bennett? It’s like… it’s like you’re disgusted with me.”
The silence that followed was deafening. Bennett stared at me, his jaw tight, his expression unreadable. For a moment, I thought he wouldn’t respond, that the silence would stretch between us forever, leaving the question unanswered.
But then his voice came, low and steady, cutting through the stillness like a blade. “Bro… you’re right,” he said, his gaze unwavering. “I am disgusted.”

Awfully powerful chapter. This story really makes you think. There are a lot of emotional ups and downs. We know poor Eli is in love with Bennett. But Bennett is very confused. He wants Eli, but just can’t handle that he has feelings and loves having sex with Eli. That would make him gay, and he just can’t deal with that. Unfortunately, Eli needs to keep his hands off of Bennett.
