I'm thinking they might be fighting against the monsters, and may have some expertise on what they are... but within that, part of them could be into some bad shenanigans.

I think the people are possibly being used BY the monsters or A SINGLE monster seeing as there are many different kinds of monsters in Lovecraftian lore. On a side note since you guys are reacting to Lovecraft Country could we possibly get a re-upload of the Rick plays Call of Cthulhu series?

The show is making me not trust white people so I don't trust them which is weird cuz I'm white so I'm having a bit of an existential crisis but joking aside such a good show I would expect nothing less from Lovecraft meets Jordan Peele Fantastic!!

I like to have expectations subverted. So since this is a story half based on racism, I bet they will be some kind of chaotic allies. White people that will help them, but not because of their good and progressive hearts, but because of their own shady objectives. So yes, I believe they'll face the monsters, but they'll eventually become the bigger evil.

When they visted Letitia's brother Marvin and he did digging up on Ardhem he said it was founded by witch hunters in the Salem Trail days so I think this is what followed that.

The guy who answered the door at the end of the episode is played by Jordan Patrick Smith, who is Ubbe in Vikings
