By the way, in the manga, Zaku's arms were literally blown off, not just the holes the chakra escaped from. Just another example of the anime censoring some stuff to keep it family friendly.

Aaron's way of thinking is very American to me, "I am going to kill you" sounds like a cocky empty threat whereas "One of us will die", shows Kakashi has the resolve to go till death to defend Sasuke. It is not weakness or lack of confidence. If he is strong enough to kill Orochimaru he will but if he is not, he will still give it all and it won't be a victory without a high price to pay for his opponent.
