Burn it all down. Let chaos reign if it means free will finally exists.
I wouldn't kill him. Hell, let's be a throuple of bad ass rulers of the universe!
Sofie Lingsell
Join him, rule the TVA, then lock him up somewhere so I can rule on my own without killing him 😈😈
aaron harris
I don't think I would have killed him but maybe detained him and get information out of him when things started going crazy...
Chase Gardner
I don't trust anybody in this show. Trust only myself and create a new timeline where it's just me myself and I!
Garrett Henderson
I just don't get the logic of letting him live on: "In order to prevent mass homicide across timelines you must allow me to commit mass homicide across timelines."
Sam Castle
With comic knowledge I would absolutely keep Kang alive. Without it, I don't think I would have believed him. Especially if my world was ruined by him like Sylvie's
GoodAsGo1d
Depends...do I have an opposite gender version of myself that I have fallen in love with and want to make happy?
I didn't know what a Xanatos Gambit was and ended up on TV Tropes. There goes my afternoon.
Liesmith
This is the very definition of a "false dichotomy". He Who Remains presented two choices and insisted that he had no control over the outcome--but he also admitted that the entire thing was what's known as a Xanatos Gambit: even if he loses, he wins. The truth is, there are more than two options available. Once he removed his TempPad, he was just a man--there was no need to kill him immediately. Alternatively, they can just use the TVA to do nothing other than prune *his* variants. Everyone else gets free will, but any instance of Kang that arises will be removed immediately. They could even make the TVA all about pruning specifically people who breach the barriers between universes. After all, if a Kang variant arises who never learns how to reach across universes, then he's not a danger to the multiverse. The entire danger is just from one specific activity occurring, and that should be the thing that the TVA prevents.

As a viewer, knowing more than Loki or Sylvie, I'd vote it'd better to not kill him and help take over the TVA. Though, if I were Loki or Sylvie in that moment, I would have killed him. After all that I'd been through, I don't think I would believe what He Who Remains (Kang variant) told me. I would rather see what happens by killing him and finding out the truth... even if the truth might make matters worse.

I would have backed up Loki on this one, not just because I'm already pretty sure that He Who Remains wasn't lying about what would happen if they killed him, but that also given that information, considering the ramifications and dismissing it as a lie, even if it really was a lie, is pretty reckless. At the very least it was prudent to think about it first, which was Loki's main argument. And at that point, Sylvie was letting all the anger she's lived with for who knows how long and her trust issues pitted against Loki's track record of being untrustworthy affect her thinking. The minute Loki told her just to wait, her mind immediately jumped to, "You're betraying me, aren't you? You just want the throne, don't you?" And even though we know Loki had a point, he is the Boy Who Cried Wolf essentially, and now that he's honestly trying to just help, it's just perceived as another backstab, and he pays the price for it. Loki may have grown in a surprising new way as a character, but he's still got a long way to go as far as earning trust goes, especially from those who already know his reputation. It's also interesting to note how much we've seen Sylvie try to distance herself from the name and identity of "Loki", and while I wouldn't call what she did a betrayal exactly, her actions are completely understandable, it does sort of come full circle in that she does a rather "Loki" thing in using something at least in part (the kiss) as a means to lower Loki's guard so she can cast him off, as well as just bid him one last sweet goodbye. Also worth it to note that she could have just killed him to get him out of her way, something she was willing to do earlier when they'd first met, but instead she went with an option that would at least keep him alive. Also considering he said, "I just want you to be okay," which I think she did believe.
kill him giving there just the two option, you dont want me to take over, FREEDOOM
Oliver Plate
Free will over all
Dylan Carpenter
Better the devil you know than the devil you don't. Taking over the TVA would allow more options as far as how it operates. Maybe there's a way to keep free will while also preventing a multiversal war.
Flashback007
Burn it down, let chaos reign
I would take over the TVA and try to make a better world. This world has lots of heroes and villains. I would try and make the world more understanding of each other and more empathetic as opposed to Kang’s plan with victors and losers. I’d try and create a timeline where the most people have positive/redemptive stories if possible
sonicburst3
Is there a "i don't know" option?
James Moyner
I voted Kill him because you know who the enemy is and what they do and it is not as though there is another version that has powers like the original. so it would take some time, but killing numerous variants of one person would be better than keeping people under control of something awful.
Scott Brown
Maybe, but it wasn't something that a supergenius scientist from the 31st century, who specializes in time-manipulation, with "a million lifetimes" (so ~78 million years) of thinking about it could figure out, so it's basically as impossible as you can get. Also, that was just Immortus, who is a very different character from the true "Kang the Conqueror" in the comics.
wickedwolf
I know that this is a binary choice, but there had to be a way to both kill him/burn down the TVA, while also preventing an all out multiversal war, but Kang ensured they didn't have time to make one. Like, there's definitely a way to have both, there just wasn't time to both come up with a plan AND THEN convince Slyvie it was viable. Like, I think Kang 1000% wanted this situation to happen since he's literally a conqueror with nothing left to conquer and that's boring. (Also, being alone at the end of time would make anyone nuts.) But they seriously didn't even have the time to come up with something since it was literally starting to branch and splinter as they fought. Kang stopped pruning/managing the timeline to force a choice on them with no time to come up with different options on their own. Combine that with Sylvie's unrelenting quest for vengeance, and he's totally backed them into an unwinnable situation. Even taking over the TVA wouldn't have stopped this, because, as they were meant to be pruned variants, they wouldn't want to do any pruning of their own. Kang KNOWS this. He's SEEN how they've behaved regarding pruning and other variants. It would have resulted in multiversal chaos EITHER WAY. Sylvie and Loki taking over just would have taken a little more time for it to happen. TLDR: Kang's a f-ing scary manipulator playing 4D chess while we're messing with checkers and it was a no win scenario the second he took off his time manipulation bracelet. They were screwed either way no matter what they chose.
Darth Kal-El (Cory Weston)
Fuck Kang. Kill him. Burn the TVA down. People deserve free will regardless of the consequences.
I’m still recovering from the episode, there’s no way I can answer this right now 😂
Coeus
Burn it all!
Quwykxz
Rule the TVA. In honor of Mass Effect's Mordin, "Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong."
Barry
Considering the alternative, the TVA is a necessary "evil".
Chris Runde
I'd take over the TVA then go talk to Dr. Strange and other smarter people to help me decide.
Prince of Za Waurdo Over Salmon
I would of taken over to make the true sacred timeline where blind wave reacts to naruto twice a week
TheCreepyGuy
I would of joined him, nothing stops me from getting rid of him in the future.
MarkIsDaBoss
I don't care, all that matters is that Gator Loki makes a return in the next season. I will be deeply disappointed if he doesn't. And as for the TVA... Let it burn.
KuroOberon
Surely the answer is to take over the TVA and use it to prune him whenever he shows up in a timeline, but let everything else do its thing?
Collecter343
Better to take the reins and see how things work. Can always kill him later.
ScarlettMi
To join him means to commit intentional genocide on countless timelines just because he says that he can't be defeated if they were to live. I think it's definitely a hard choice to make, but I think stopping him would be the right thing.
Gavin Hardiman
Better to accept the dance with the devil you know
Christian Powell
I think either choice ends badly, because if you say yes to being the ruler, you aren't fully ruler or have the power he does. So you really are just accepting to be a pawn. Where as the choice of killing him ends bad, because he already has told you what will happen, that killing him is pointless. Whether you believe him or not is the real question though.
Kevin Bartelen
I feel like there's an in-between. Can't we kill him, AND take over? And then we ONLY prune timelines that lead to an evil him, because there were several good ones too by the sounds of it. So that way we also still have some free will.
spencer
rule the tva just to keep things organized
SNP
This is almost the same choice with CW, this is the ways of showing a person's ideology. Steve definitely will burn TVA down because he believes in giving people make their own choice while Tony will rule TVA and take matters into his own hand to prevent some potential threat.
Adam Burt
I'm a believer that free will is the better option, even if there is the potential for problems. He Who Remains only knows for sure what happened to the multiverse once, if chaos theory is correct then the simple fact the new multiverse was created from that point means that even if the war begins anew it may not have the same outcome.
rickie woodson
c. take him prisoner and learn about all these kangs and then go to their worlds to see if he was telling the truth. see it with my own eyes. gather information to make an informed decision. but yeah wouldnt have killed him. #heroesdontkill
Ruben Mira Jimenez
"Nothing wrong with a dictatorship, so long as you're the dictator." Burn it all down .
Christian Bolda
I’d definitely just let it all burn to the ground I wouldn’t be in favor of having one person ruling over the lives of billions and billions of people
It seems from the mcu plans, kill him which brings chaos, which also brings the multiverse and in so doing, brings back Tobey Maguire. So the obvious choice is that.
Doby Greg
I would rule it so I can have the most power not because its the right choice.
Jules Eris
For the sake of the MCU I love the whole multiverse deal. But if it was me, making the decision not as a viewer, but as a person inhabiting that universe, I would definitely choose to rule the TVA. Just seems way safer than a multiversal war lol.
Paul Mason
Rule. I would be firm but fair. At first anyway.
MOB12
Since i have the ideal situation of hindsight i wouldnt want to deal with his Conqueror variant
Deadpool
I wouldn’t mind being a King
Lawrence Bersamin
IRL I would join him but as an audience member to the MCU obviously then "whatever it takes" to get to multiversal war/phase 4 lol
Mani
multiverse i want phase 4
Joel
I would personally join him, you dont know how a war will end. Then again I understand why Sylie did what she did. I don't agree with her and her revenge isn't worth the multiverse, but anger does blind people.
Yil
Part of the theme of the show is the "greater purpose" that we all devote ourselves to. Killing him is only egotistical and selfish, besides that it changes nothing, history would only repeat itself.
Smart option is to rule but I’d wanna see what would happen
SpeedyCat19
Multiverse pleeeease
Moonraker
feel like there's a third option of maybe talk about it, take him hostage back to the TVA, ask some more questions etc etc stabbing the guy and hoping for the best doesn't seem very well thought through
Jordan Malloy
Um join him, because otherwise the world(s) is/are screwed. Also, it’s Tic from Lovecraft. Can’t say no to that guy lol
Lucas Joseph
If I could save the whole multiverse from war I’ll do it without question
Sam K
Let chaos rule!
And so the multiverse begins
If you can’t beat em...join em
DC Fanboy
If I knew everything Kang was capable of I would definitely listen to this guy and do whatever he says
