What I think/hope will happen is at the end obi-wan will show up in a flash back in the end of the episode and it will be revealed he is the one who takes grogu and the plot of obi-wan is trying to protect grogu from the empire and Anakin

I feel like he'll choose the chainmail - the reason for either gift being offered was for his own protection but, besides Luke training with one, the last time Grogu saw lightsabers in use they were in the hands of Jedi who were being gunned down by Clone Troopers, and that's clearly a heavily imprinted memory for the little guy. It seems like he might put more faith in beskar, which he's seen Din protected by multiple times.

I'm actually in the "both" camp. I think he'll choose the chainmail first, then come back to the lightsaber. A Mandalorian and a Jedi.

I think Luke’s speech about how little time mando has left in comparison to someone of grogus species it was meant to put grogu off of that path. That being said I’d love for Grogu to show growth and self control picking the lightsaber. Allowing Luke to give him the armor as well; acknowledging Jedi can have attachment as long as they know they cannot allow it to control their actions. But maybe that’s just how I want Luke to train the next generation.

I knew that Grogu was going back to Mando the moment we saw the new ship has a view bubble instead of the droid port. You think Disney is going to pass up the toy opportunity of The Mandalorian in the cockpit and Grogu looking out through the viewing bubble?!! That screams marketing!

Grogu is too focused on WIIFM (what's in it for me) Just like his fascination with food, he has trouble controlling his wants. If you compare his age to that of a human, he's like 4 years old.

Yes, and it’s something that hasn’t been touched upon much other than in the hearts of fans. Plus going way back into the days of the Old Republic Jedi we’re allowed to hold attachments and love and the order was over a million strong. There was reasons why the attachment rule was created become of those days but that proved not to work either. The galaxy needs a happy balance between both.

I feel like for Story Grogu chooses Din, but who’s to say he doesn’t stay with Din for his lifetime, inherits the Darksaber and become the second Mandalorian Jedi. It’s likely from what he is learning from Luke and remembers from before the Empire that he will have what he needs to become a Jedi one day. Maybe working alongside Rey Skywalker?!

I voted for the Light Saber but then I remembered that Disney is going to definitely not pass up a cash grab. Hell they used 2 entire Boba episodes to stop the blooding as a stop gap to immediately get Grogu back by the beginning of season 3. Genius to have the seasons seamlessly have no missing Grogu!

Before that we need to talk about how SEFLESS Mando is because He loves Grogu mor than ANYTHING, even more than his own Creed and he still LET HIM GO for the second time. First time fot Grogu's Happiness and the second for His Well-being. That said i think he will choose the lightsaber. Everything is too well prepared to have Grogu back with Mando and i for some reason think it'sa trick and we will be heartbroken seeing the vest being returned to Mando.

What is y’all’s opinion on Jedi having attachments? I think not having attachment is what made the Jedi in the republic fail and what made them dogmatic. Having that attachment with Anakin is why Luke was able to turn him back to the light side and give Anakin the strength to save his son. I believe Luke is trying to convey this Grogu and will let Grogu chose both Yoda’s lightsaber and the chain mail! Luke will teach this to the new era of Jedi that attachment is a good thing to have if used properly. Thanks for coming to my Tedtalk

Can't choose, won't choose. Not sure if that's me or Grogu. I'm really hoping they made it a cliff hanger because they're actually going to not make him choose. I have always hated the idea that in order to be a jedi you have to not have any attachments, I mean really hated. And what does that even mean - every jedi we know has attachments. Then again I grew up on the OG films.

Grogu will take the chainmail then the blacksmith is also going to make him a full set of tiny mandalorian armor!!!!

I think Ahsoka already Knows what Grogu choice would be. She left right after Din did so is she kinda fallowing Din for a favor of some kind and just hasnt asked yet.

I kinda feel like the showrunners left us with a cliffhanger so they can see how the audience feels about where grogus character should go. Personally I'd like to see him go with din but I think he'll end up being a jedi.

Grogu already had to forgo attachments once before when he first came to the Jedi Order and now he's being told he has to decide if he wants to do it again. I want him to choose a life with Din - he has plenty of time to learn to be Jedi but only a short time with his dad. He needs to learn Mando culture as well to prepare for when he becomes the 2nd Mandalorian Jedi.

More likely to choose Mando, but I feel like for the story it makes more sense to choose the lightsaber. I feel like Luke may still give him the beskar if he chooses the saber since it is clear then his heart is in it, whereas if he chooses the beskar Luke will think Grogu really is best back with who he “really” belongs with. He could still end up with Mando despite choosing the saber, I just think narratively the chance of seeing a combination of both as possible, with Luke helming the decision, happens only if he chooses the lightsaber.

I really hope we get something where Grogu chooses the Beskar chainmail and somehow makes Luke realize that he could do both. I don't think it would contradict Lukes character in the sequels while at the same time keeping the legends jedi tempel philosophy of embracing attachment. But I don't know if they will go this route. Personally I would want Grogu to chose the lightsaber, just because I love Jedi training and Jedi in general.

Considering how long Grogu can live, he can spend 10 to 20 years training with Luke, then maybe a few years before the Ben Solo incident, Grogu feels ready to go find Din Djarin on his own.

The choice Luke offers is strange: the lightsaber means Grogu will become "a great Jedi", but it's antithetical to the Jedi teachings to dangle "greatness" in front of a padawan. I think Luke is hoping that Grogu will choose neither, or will choose the armor, wrap up his life with Din, then return to his training. After all, that's the choice that Luke ultimately made in the original trilogy.

It hurt me, in this episode, the…I won’t say missed opportunity, but just short of that, of not actually seeing Luke and Ahsoka first meet. I saw an incredible hand drawn comic where they do meet for the first time, and Ahsoka expresses her sadness that Luke couldn’t have known Anakin. He tells her that he did know his father, that he came back, right at the end. Ahsoka teared up, said “He came back?” then just collapsed, crying, and saying “He came back….” It makes me tear up or even cry every time I see it, and I wish we could have gotten that in at least some show, even if not this one.

I think the wisest choice is the lightsaber, despite feeling that Grogu will choose the armor. If he spends his life with Mando then Luke won’t be able to train him anymore for being too old, and It probably would be best to have a milenar Jedi to watch over the galaxy.

Grogu will definitely pick the Beskar Chainmail.. the foreshadowing of Din's Naboo Starfighter droid compartment is too much. Also, if this IS some kind of Test by Luke.. perhaps he'll recieve Yoda's Lightsaber anyways and he and Din can train against one another with them at a later point, Lightsaber vs Darksaber.

It only makes sense to choose the beskar armor only because he’s going back to a person who has the dark saber. Grogu yielding a saber is still going to happen, he is the blueprint for the next Tarre Vizsla!

I would say that Star Wars was ruined a long time ago for me, Disney with their movie trilogy only depend those wounds. Disney+ on the other hand single handedly revived the fire behind Star Wars & amassed new legions of fans that are retro actively watching all the history of Star Wars and having another completely different experience & having no stigma towards the old material and can have a different impact than most of us who lived in that era and were disappointed of the direction Lucas took the narrative on.

I chose the Jedi way, because I feel like we need to develop this universe / galaxy as an ever expanding pool of stories and far reaching adventures. We gazed, loved & cried over the relationship between grogu & mando and how that arch concluded was special. To get better stories in Star Wars, I feel that characters should grow together and apart over their life journeys constantly (A balance between Happiness/Contentment & Loss/Grief) . And for Grogu, it would be very interesting to see his future arch as a Jedi that maybe can find a new path of the force… thats what I think but yea the awesome crew behind these Disney+ narratives will slay the s**t outta the story.

Why not both? 😢 I’m honesty disappointed in Luke and Ahsoka. They set themselves up with the belief that attachment is what turned Anakin to the dark side. Period. There can only be one or the other. Obi Wan says, “only a sith deals in absolutes.” But I find the Jedi pretty absolutist too. In reality, it was the stifling beliefs of the Jedi Code and the conflict they had with Anakin’s heart that sent him down the path and also led him to redemption. The Jedi Order needs to teach its students the difference between obsession, compassion, attachment and love. Grogu should have the choice to be not just a Jedi but a Jedi with love and loyalty. A Mandalorian Jedi is my hope.

Initially the Beskar armor. But there's no reason he eventually can't have both. Why would you retcon Yoda's saber from the dead just for it to not have a bigger storyline? I feel Grogu will end up with both items at some point in the future.

It almost feels like they included all this stuff in book of boba fett because we thought we would see it in season 3 of Mando but maybe they are going in a different direction and that’s why we saw these plots in boba fett. That could also mean that the droid part of the star fighter being removed will be the cockpit for grogu
