It's interesting in terms of the show I've read that no returning soldiers were given that kind of treatment. Soldiers were actually happy if someone in their group got some time off the line, as long as it wasn't life threatening.

Whenever I see people react to episode 8 they act like they haven't met Webster before. The dude was in episode 1 through 5, but missed Bastogne. I feel bad for the guy every time. Some reactors treat him like a completely green person with no experience like Colin Hank's character.
