Ironically, I remember the Normies getting backlash for only doing two a week and complaining it would take them years to finish. I don't think those complaints really disappeared until BW started reacting to Naruto at one a week and made the people complaining about the Normies' model actually appreciate it more.

I don't even care about Naruto that much (as in, I don't watch every reaction, but i watch the episodes i remember being good) and this has annoyed me lol. Why would you even contemplate this, let alone actually go through with it? Lol.

Let me explain to you how Gintama explains anime filler “When an anime catches up to a manga that’s still running, it must take a roundabout path to stay within the reach of the manga before it can rejoin the manga. However there are a number of risks. The anime could buy enough time for the manga to move on, only to be cancelled. Or the manga ends right when the anime’s about to rejoin. Or the anime and manga rejoin too early, and the anime has to diverge again in no time. Or in the process of diverging, the characters or setting in the anime become so different, that they can never rejoin again. Then that’s when they just shamelessly remake the anime from the start again.” TLDR: basically the anime makes original episodes to give the source material (the manga or another word to call it comic) time to make new content and the “filler” has no importance at all to the actual story of the show.

Instant unsubcribe for me. I already thought doing only one episode a week for a show with 400+ episodes was a ridiculous and predatory technique to get subscriptions for as long as possible, and now 2 months of filler is the straw that breaks the camel's back. I prefer waiting 3 months instead of 2 to see the rest of Shippuuden for free and will give my money to creators who 1/ need it more, 2/ are more respectful with their subscribers.

Just so you guys understand how much of blue balls this is, this is like waiting for your favorite reactors to start the chimera ant arc and then having to wait 2 months instead but I like that you guys are invested and thats whats most important, this next arc after the filler will hit even harder when you are invested with these characters

I wish Blind Wave dropped shows like Naruto how The Normies did because this is ridiculous. I wish that if they wanted to watch the fillers that they just react to it as like a separate series (cause I actually like the filler) and continue the main (canon) one. I think it's crazy to do this because it'll take 8 extra weeks to get back to main story. So this release format is just so frustrating...

I would say this filler does cut the momentum of the previous episodes but we also get to know the tailed beasts in these episodes. They skipped filler in the past, so it was a decision to watch these eps.

This is one of my main frustrations when it comes to BW. Honestly if I had been working with BW I would have straight up told them that reacting to Naruto would be a bad idea. Because you’d understandably get fans who think that watching this show once a week is insane given it’s over 700 episodes long and it’s pacing so they’ll ask for double drops. Bw got two ways to deal with this. By cutting their losses and saying long form shows like Naruto are just not viable with their adamant once a week schedule and not reacting to it or giving in and watching 2 a week. They chose none of those options and decided to ignore the community and watch at once a week for 10 years which I get why people think it’s crazy cuz it is! Then what’s a bigger issue they decide they’re watching filler too to break the momentum the show was starting to get. No community input on this either except from 6 years ago when they made a list with fans on what filler to watch and what not to watch. You weren’t there 6 years ago for this very important decision? Well sucks to suck and I doubt those same people 6 years ago are still even here. I love BW I really do I wouldn’t still be a patreon if I didn’t but the criticisms and frustrations are valid and we’re only ever given the “you guys are toxic” line by BW, their mods, and BW fans and it’s frustrating.

Mods on their discord said the crew never asked for community input. So this is their decision for better or worse. It's not bad filler but the placement destroys all pace and momentum.

Hey guys, seeing how people are upset about the fillers, I feel like a good compromise would be to do double episode reactions for the next 8 weeks. This way you guys can react to the fillers, and also stay on schedule after 8 weeks (and therefore have people be less upset).

I should’ve when Aaron said last week we’ll be back with 144 instead of 152 I was just hoping lmao. PS: Spoilers The other tailed beast besides 1,8, and 9 are literally never shown unless you watch the fillers which honestly becomes one of my biggest gripes with the show later on. So fuck it I guess.

Its just funny to see those comments week after week for years. I say its a mentality thing. I dont even consider the naruto slot to be anything but. In my mind when naruto finishes the slot just disappears. If you think about it like that, its not a wasted slot :D. In the end you and I cant change it so just make the best of it. believe me. No double episodes for a ridiculously long and long dead anime series, then this 2 months long filler episodes reaction was the final nail in the coffin. The current time slot that Naruto was taking "all these years" could have been given to other anime or live action series by now. Good thing Dr. Stone already concluded and one of Vinland Saga best episodes is coming this Friday.
